Çalışma, ODTÜ İİİBF 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin mezuniyet sonrası işe hazırlık, iş bulma süreci ve bu süre içinde karşılaştıkları sorunlarla nasıl başa çıktıklarına odaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın temel kaygısı, üniversite sınav sistemin, üniversitede aldıkları eğitimin ve iş giriş sınavlarının (KPSS türü), emek piyasasına girişlerini nasıl yönlendirdiğine bakmaktadır. Çalışma, yaklaşık 400 adet İİBF 4. sınıf öğrencisi ile yapılacak bir anketi (yaklaşık geri dönüş oranı %50 olarak beklenmektedir), ve 43 adet derinlemesine mülakatı içermektedir (30 adet kesin yapılmak üzere). Çalışmanın beklenen sonuçları ile ilgili olarak bir dizi hipotez bulunmaktadır. Ancak, şu an için bulgular hakkında kesin bir ön yargı belirtmek mümkün değildir. Yine de, araştırmacının çıkış noktalarından birisi, ODTÜ İİBF mezunlarının iş bulma/işsizlik süresinin özellikle son 3 yılda uzadığı yönündeki tespitidir.
