Passivation of type II InAs/GaSb superlattice photodetectors with atomic layer deposited Al2O3
Salihoglu, Omer; Muti, Abdullah; Kutluer, Kutlu; Tansel, Tunay; Turan, Raşit; KOCABAŞ, COŞKUN; AYDINLI, ATİLLA (2012-04-27)
We have achieved significant improvement in the electrical performance of the InAs/GaSb midwave infrared photodetector (MWIR) by using atomic layer deposited (ALD) aluminium oxide (Al2O3) as a passivation layer. Plasma free and low operation temperature with uniform coating of ALD technique leads to a conformal and defect free coverage on the side walls. This conformal coverage of rough surfaces also satisfies dangling bonds more efficiently while eliminating metal oxides in a self cleaning process of the A...
STORAX CONTAINING HYDROXYETHYL CHITOSAN -CARRAGEENAN HYDROGEL / ASYMMETRIC POLYCAPROLACTONE MEMBRANE BILAYER WOUND DRESSING
Nakipoğlu, Mustafa; Tezcaner, Ayşen; Özen, Can; Department of Biotechnology (2023-1-18)
Despite the advancement of modern technology, wound care is still based on traditional methods such as suture, staple and gauze around the world. Although, these methods provide affordable treatment for various types of wounds, they fall short in easy and effective treatment to facilitate healing process. Enabling a quicker and more convenient wound healing necessitates a comprehensive approach to wound dressing development to include simple yet multifunctional and versatile designs. In this work, we focuse...

Artifical photosynthesis : dye assisted photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide over pure and platinum containing titania
Özcan, Özlem; Üner, Deniz; Department of Chemical Engineering (2005)
The aim of this study is to test the limits of photocatalytic reduction of CO2 over Pt and light harvesting dye promoted TiO2 films under UV and visible light. Thick and thin TiO2 film catalysts are coated onto 1 cm long glass beads via a common sol-gel procedure and dip coating technique. TiO2 thin films were promoted by Pt and three different light harvesting molecules: RuBpy (Tris (2,2̕ ا bipyridyl) ruthenium (II) chloride hexahydrate) , BrGly (1,7-dibromo-N,N̕-(t-butoxycarbonyl-methyl)-3,4:9,10-perylene...
Resorbable elastomeric networks prepared by photocrosslinking of high-molecular-weight poly(trimethylene carbonate) with photoinitiators and poly(trimethylene carbonate) macromers as crosslinking aids
Bat, Erhan; Feijen, Jan; Grijpma, Dirk W. (Elsevier BV, 2011-05-01)
Resorbable and elastomeric poly( trimethylene carbonate) (PTMC) networks were efficiently prepared by photoinitiated crosslinking of linear high-molecular-weight PTMC To crosslink PTMC films, low-molecular-weight PTMC macromers with methacrylate end groups were synthesized and used as crosslinking aids By exposing PTMC films containing only photoinitiator (Irgacure (R) 2959) or both photoinitiator and PTMC macromers to ultraviolet light. PTMC networks with high gel contents (87-95%) could be obtained The cr...
