Bis(acetylacetonato)dimethanolnickel(II) was isolated as turquoise needle-like crystals by recrystallization of bis(acetylacetonato)nickel(II) from methanol solution and fully characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR, FT-IR spectroscopy, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The X-ray structure analysis gives essentially a triclinic unit cell of bis(acetylacetonato)dimethanolnickel(II) containing one centrosymmetric molecule of the formula Ni[(O2C2H7)(2)(OHCH3)(2)], The Ni(II) ion is located at the inversion centre of a tetragonally distorted octahedral coordination sphere. The equatorial plane of the tetragonally distorted octahedral coordination sphere includes four O-donor atoms of two acetylacetonato ligands and the axial positions are occupied by two oxygen atoms of two methanol ligands.

Polymerization by bis(ethylxanthato)nickel(II) as an initiator. I. Polymerization of styrene oxide
Kayaturk, N; Usanmaz, A; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (1999-01-01)
Bis(ethylxanthato)nickel(II) was identified by FTIR, DSC, MS and X-ray powder diffraction methods. It has a monoclinic structure with cell parameters of a=14.800(3)A, b=14.088(1)A, c=13.274(8)A; beta=101.13 degrees(8)degrees. It decomposes at above 170 degrees C. Styrene oxide was polymerized with bis(ethylxanthato)nickel(II) under air, nitrogen and vacuum conditions. The structure of the resulting polymers was determined by means of FTIR, C-13 NMR, X-ray diffraction, vapor pressure osmometer and DSC. Low m...
Synthesis and characterizations of 3,3 '-bis(diphenylphosphinoamine)-2,2 '-bipyridine and 3,3 '-bis(diphenylphosphinite)-2,2 '-bipyridine and their chalcogenides
Baysal, Akin; Aydemir, Murat; Durap, Feyyaz; Guemguem, Bahattin; Özkar, Saim; Yildirim, Leyla Tatar (2007-08-06)
New bis(phosphinoamine) and bis(phosphinite) derivatives of 2,2'-bipyridine were prepared through a single step reaction of 3,3'-diamino-2,2'-bipyridine or 3,3'-dihydroxy-2,2'-bipyridine with diphenylehlorophosphine, respectively. Their P = E chalcogenides (E = 0, S, Se) were also prepared. All the new compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopies. The molecular structure of 3.3'-bis(diphenylthiophosphinite)-2,2'-bipyridine was elucidated by single-crystal X-ray crystallograp...
Synthesis, characterization, crystal and molecular structure of diphenyloxophosphinoethylenediamines
Guemguem, Bahattin; Akba, Osman; Durap, Feyyaz; Yildirim, Leyla Tatar; Uelkue, Dincer; Özkar, Saim (2006-11-13)
Bis-, tris- and tetrakis(diphenyloxophosphino)ethylenediamine compounds can be synthesized starting with ethylenediamine and chlorodiphenylphosphine. Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylenediamine and tris(diphenylphosphino)ethylenediamine are formed as intermediates and can be oxidized to the respective phosphine oxides by oxygen dissolved in the reaction solution, while tetrakis(diphenylphosphino)ethylenediamine is less liable to oxidation and its oxidation requires a stronger oxidizing agent such as hydrogen pero...
Synthesis and characterizations of N,N-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylaniline derivatives and X-ray crystal structure of palladium (II), platinum (II) complexes
DURAP, FEYYAZ; BİRİCİK, NERMİN; Guemguem, Bahattin; Özkar, Saim; Ang, Wee Han; Fei, Zhaofu; Scopelliti, Rosario (2008-01-20)
N,N-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylaniline compounds, [Ph2P](2)N-C6H4-C2H5, with ethyl groups at the ortho- and para-positions have been synthesized. Oxidation of the aminophosphines with hydrogen peroxide, elemental sulfur and selenium gave the corresponding oxides, sulfides and selenides [Ph2P(E)](2)N-C6H4-C2H5 (E = O, S, Se). Complexes [MCl2{(Ph2P)(2)N-C6H4-(C2H5)}] (M = Pd, Pt) and [Cu{(Ph2P)(2)N-C6H4-C2H5)(2)]PF6 were obtained by the reaction of NN-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylaniline with [MCl2(COD)] (M = P...
An investigation of bacterial and fungal xylanolytic systems
Yaşınok, Ayşegül Ersayın; Bakır, Ufuk; Department of Biotechnology (2006)
Endo-b-1,4 xylanases (EC. 3.2.1.8) are typically produced as a mixture of different hydrolytic enzymes such as b-1,4-xylosidase (EC. 3.2.1.37) , a-Larabinofuranosidases (EC. 3.2.1.55), and feruloyl esterase (EC 3.1.1.73) that hydrolyze xylan molecule, which constitutes 20-30% of the weight of wood and agricultural wastes. Thus, xylan, a renewable biomass, can be utilized as a substrate for the preparation of many products such as fuels, solvents and pharmaceuticals. Besides, xylanolytic enzymes themselves a...
