Agents show considerable promise as a new paradigm for software development. However for wider adoption and deployment of agent technology, powerful design and development tools are needed. Such tools should empower software developers to cater agent solutions more efficiently and at a lower cost for their customers with rapidly changing requirements and differing application specifications.

An Agile business process software development methodology
Çulha, Davut; Doğru, Ali Hikmet; Department of Computer Engineering (2014)
An agile business process software development methodology is proposed, developed and tested in this research. To speed up the business process software development practices in the organization and to address the requirements more efficiently, an agile approach was adapted. Two new processes were developed using the new methodology. The improvement was assessed by utilizing nine older developments: A formula was developed in this research that estimates the development efforts for old business process soft...
A lessons-learned tool for organizational learning in construction
Eken, Görkem; Dikmen Toker, İrem; Birgönül, Mustafa Talat (Elsevier BV, 2020-02-01)
Organizational learning has been identified as a core competency for project-based companies with industry specific challenges. In this study, it is hypothesized that a web-based lessons learned management system may help construction companies to manage lessons learned effectively. A lessons learned management process model (LLMPM) was proposed for capturing and transferring knowledge across projects. Expert review meetings with participants from both academia and private sector were carried out to develop...
A Web-Service for Automated Software Refactoring Using Artificial Bee Colony Optimization
Koc, Ekin; Ersoy, Nur; Camlidere, Zelal Seda; Kilic, Hurevren (2012-06-20)
Automated software refactoring is one of the hard combinatorial optimization problems of search-based software engineering domain. The idea is to enhance the quality of the existing software under the guidance of software quality metrics through applicable refactoring actions. In this study, we designed and implemented a web-service that uses discrete version of Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) optimization approach in order to enhance bytecode compiled Java programming language codes, automatically. The introdu...
Extending the Agile Development Process to Develop Acceptably Secure Software
BEN OTHMANE, Lotfi; Angın, Pelin; WEFFERS, Harold; BHARGAVA, Bharat (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2014-11-01)
The agile software development approach makes developing secure software challenging. Existing approaches for extending the agile development process, which enables incremental and iterative software development, fall short of providing a method for efficiently ensuring the security of the software increments produced at the end of each iteration. This article (a) proposes a method for security reassurance of software increments and demonstrates it through a simple case study, (b) integrates security engine...
A Lightweight Software Process Assessment Approach Based on MDevSPICE((R)) for Medical Device Development Domain
Özcan Top, Özden (2017-09-04)
Software process improvement is challenging in the medical device development domain, as significant constraints exist such as ensuring conformance to regulations while improving software quality. The regulations that medical products are subject to may be overwhelming for organisations as a variety of international standards have to be implemented in order to address regulatory compliance. MDevSPICE® is a framework developed to overcome this challenge by integrating different international regulatory stand...
