Crystallization kinetics of fluorophosphate glasses .1. Effect of composition and hearing rate

1997-05-15
Ozturk, A
Crystallization behaviour of glasses from the system AlF3-MF2-Ba(PO3)(2) (M = Ca, Mg, Sr, Ba) have been studied using differential thermal analysis as a function of Ba(PO3)(3). The kinetic parameters for crystallization, namely, the activation energy, E frequency factor, v, and Avrami exponent, n, were determined. E,v and n decreased with increasing Ba(PO3)(2). Crystallization commenced at higher temperatures and the crystal growth mechanism changed from bulk to surface with increasing Ba(PO3)(2). X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that CaAIF(5), SrAtF5, CaAIF(7) and CaSrAIF(7) crystallize from these glasses when heated. The infrared transmission spectra indicated that AIF(6), PO3F and Ba(Ca,Mg,Sr)P2O7 groups were present in these glasses.

Plastic deformation induced microstructure evolution through gradient enhanced crystal plasticity based on a non-convex Helmholtz energy
Klusemann, Benjamin; Yalçınkaya, Tuncay (Elsevier BV, 2013-09-01)
A gradient crystal plasticity model in the framework of continuum thermodynamics and rate variational formulation is presented for the description of plastic deformation patterning in a system with non-convex energetic hardening. The paper focuses on the extension of the 1D deformation patterning analysis of Yalcinkaya et al. (2011) to 2D for monotonic loading histories. Solution algorithm is based on the simultaneous solution of displacement and plastic slip fields, which have been considered as primary va...
ELECTRICAL-CONDUCTIVITY AND SEEBECK COEFFICIENT OF (LA, CA) (CR, CO)O3
KOC, R; ANDERSON, HU (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1992-10-15)
Electrical conductivity and Seebeck coefficients of (La, Ca) (Cr, Co) O3 were measured as a function of temperature. The electrical conductivity as measured in air from 100 to 1100-degrees-C increased with increasing Co and Ca content. The Seebeck coefficients were positive, indicating p-type conductivity. The substitution of Co for Cr significantly decreased the Seebeck coefficients, indicating that the substitution resulted in an increase in site occupancy, associated with the Co. The additional Ca substi...
Temperature dependent band gap in SnS2xSe(2-2x) (x=0.5) thin films
Delice, S.; Isik, M.; Gullu, H. H.; Terlemezoglu, M.; Surucu, O. Bayrakli; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Parlak, Mehmet (Elsevier BV, 2020-08-01)
Structural and optical properties of SnS2xSe(2-2x) thin films grown by magnetron sputtering method were investigated for composition of x = 0.5 (SnSSe) in the present study. X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy methods were used for structural characterization while temperature-dependent transmission measurements carried out at various temperatures in between 10 and 300 K were accomplished for optical investigations. X-ray diffract...
Sintering and humidity-sensitive behaviour of the ZnCr2O4-K2CrO4 ceramic system
Bayhan, M; Hashemi, T; Brinkman, AW (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1997-12-15)
Solid state reaction at elevated temperatures and the sintering behaviour of zinc chromite formed by zinc oxide and chromite oxide were investigated. Crystalline structure, surface and fractured morphologies and humidity-sensitivity characteristics of ZnCr2O4-K2CrO4-CuO were studied. The fired ceramic body, which proved to be mainly constructed from ZnCr2O4 spinel grains, was porous. The humidity characteristics of the sensor showed that the resistance decreased as a logarithmic function with an increase in...
Crystal data and indirect optical transitions in Tl2InGaSe4 crystals
QASRAWI, ATEF FAYEZ HASAN; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Elsevier BV, 2008-06-03)
The room temperature crystal data and the optical properties of the Bridgman method grown Tl2InGaSe4 crystals are reported and discussed. The X-ray diffraction technique has revealed that Tl2InGaSe4 is a single phase crystal of monoclinic structure. The unit cell lattice parameters, which were recalculated from the X-ray data, are found to be a = 0.77244 nm, b = 0.64945 nm, c = 0.92205 nm and beta = 95.03 degrees. The temperature dependence of the optical band gap of Tl2InGaSe4 single crystal in the tempera...
