In this paper, the hysteresis current controller is modeled with PWM rectifier for stability analysis and design of dc link PI controller. The results of linear model are compared with the detailed simulation results during starting period of the rectifier. The stable operating ranges of system parameters like hysteresis band width, boost inductance, dc link capacitor and sampling frequency are verified by the detailed dedicated simulation program in Matlab/Simulink interlinked to TMS320F2812. The results has shown that the linear model correctly predicts the stability of the system and provides the feasible solution for PI controller parameters from Routh -Hurwitz criteria. The experimental records during the starting and load changing are also given.

Equivalent linearization of 2-way fuzzy adaptive system under nonparametric uncertainty and inconsistency
Gurkan, E; Banks, SP; Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Erkmen, İsmet (2002-09-18)
Our aim in this paper is to design a 2-way fuzzy adaptive controller for a flexible robot arm and to analyze the stability of this controller using describing function technique. The 2-way fuzzy adaptive system is used in order to model the nonparametric uncertainties and inconsistencies present in the nonlinear system. The use of intuitionistic fuzzy sets in the 2-way fuzzy adaptive structure makes it possible to model such uncertainties. The proposed architecture is used as a controller for a flexible-joi...
Performance Evaluation and Selection of PWM Switching and Control Methods for Grid Connected Modular Multilevel Converters
Ciftci, Baris; Hava, Ahmet Masum (2015-09-24)
This paper focuses on the determination of suitable carrier based pulse width modulation (PWM) switching and control methods for grid connected modular multilevel converters (MMCs). Characterization of various level-shifted and phase-shifted carrier based PWM methods are provided in terms of output voltage waveforms both for N+1 and 2N+1 level output phase voltages. Carrier based PWM method based control approaches are evaluated for MMC. Performances of different control methods are evaluated and compared f...
Steady-state modeling of a phase-shift PWM parallel resonant converter
Iskender, Ires; Uctug, Yildurum; Ertan, Hulusi Bülent (2006-01-01)
Purpose - To derive an analytical model for a dc-ac-dc parallel resonant converter operating in lagging power factor mode based on the steady-state operation conditions and considering the effects of a high-frequency transformer.
Performance analysis and comparison of reduced common mode voltage PWM and standard PWM techniques for three-phase voltage source inverters
Un, E; Hava, Ahmet Masum (2006-03-23)
This paper investigates the performance characteristics of the reduced common mode voltage (RCMV) PWM methods for three phase voltage source inverters and provides a comparison with the standard PWM methods. PWM methods are reviewed and their pulse patterns and common mode voltage patterns illustrated. The AC output current ripple, DC link input current ripple, and output voltage linearity characteristics of each modulation method are thoroughly investigated by analytical methods and simulations. The analys...
Adaptive Nonlinear Control Combined With Unscented Kalman Filter for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Fed by AC/DC/AC Converter
Titaouine, A.; Taibi, D.; Bennis, O.; Benchabane, F.; Boumaraf, R.; Yahia, K. (2011-09-10)
In this paper, a adaptive non-linear controller is presented for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) sensorless drives. The adaptive non-linear controller is designed based on an input-output feedback linearization control technique. The unscented Kalman filter is used to estimate the speed, position and load torque. The PMSM is fed by an indirect power electronics converter. This indirect converter is controlled by a sliding mode technique that enables minimization of harmonics introduced by the line...
