We examined the fall-back disk models, and in general accretion, proposed to explain the properties of AXPs and SGRs. We checked the possibility of some gas remaining around the neutron star after a supernova explosion. We also compared AXPs and SGRs with the X-ray pulsars in X-ray binaries. We conclude that the existing models of accretion from a fall-back disk are insufficient to explain the nature of AXPs and SGRs.

Removal of the difference between characteristic and real age in the magnetar model from the analysis of spectral properties of AXPs, SGRs and DRQNSs
Guseinov, OH; Taskin, O; Yazgan, E; Tagieva, S (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2003-09-01)
We put together many observational data of SGRs and AXPs and analyze them with the main purpose to remove contradiction between the real age of these objects and their characteristic times of period change. This work indicates that SGRs and AXPs are neutron stars with magnetic fields up to similar to3 x 10(14) G at birth, which is less than the possible value in the existing magnetar model. These neutron stars undergo starquakes and reconnection of magnetic field occurs from time to time. As a result of the...
The momentum 4-vector imparted by gravitational waves in Bianchi-type metrics
Havare, A; Korunur, M; Salti, M (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2006-01-01)
Considering the MOller, Weinberg and Qadir-Sharif's definitions in general relativity, we find the momentum 4-vector of the closed universe based on the Bianchi-type metrics. The momentum 4-vector (due to matter plus fields) is found to be zero. This result supports the viewpoints of Albrow and Tryon and extends the previous works by Cooperstock-Israelit, Rosen, Johri et al., Banerjee-Sen and Vargas who investigated the problem of the energy in Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe and SaltI-Havare who studie...
Gravitational energy-momentum density in Bianchi type II space-times
Aydogdu, Oktay (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2006-04-01)
In this paper, using Einstein, Landau and Lifshitz's energy-momentum complexes both in general relativity and teleparallel gravity, we calculate the total energy distribution (due to matter and fields, including gravitation) associated with locally rotationally symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type II cosmological models. We show that energy densities in these different gravitation theories are the same, so they agree with each other. We obtain the result that the total energy is zero. This result agrees with previo...
BV observations of W UMa-type binaries: CK Boo, BI CVn, and AH Vir
Demircan, Osman (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1987-7)
Photoelectric BV observations of W UMa-type binaries CK Boo, BI CVn, and AH Vir are presented, and light curve variations and shifts of minima are discussed in the context of stellar activity and mass transfer. The O−C increments in three systems were found to be 0.08, 0.80, and 0.60 s per revolution, respectively. The new ephemeris for the future observations were also found.
On period and burst histories of AXPs and SGRs and the possible evolution of these objects on the P-P diagram
Guseinov, OH; Yazgan, EFE; Ankay, A; Tagieva, S (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2003-01-01)
In this paper, timing data for anomalous X-ray pulsars and soft gamma repeaters are compiled. Timing properties of these objects are investigated. The effect of bursts of soft gamma repeaters on their period history is investigated. The P-P diagram for pulsars, X-ray binaries, anomalous X-ray pulsars, soft gamma repeaters and dim radio quiet neutron stars is constructed. The possible evolutionary tracks for anomalous X-ray pulsars, soft gamma repeaters and dim radio quiet neutron stars are examined.
