Fusarium roseum and Aspergillus oryzae-mediated enantioselective reduction of benzils to benzoins
Elmir, Ayhan S.; Ayhan, Peruze; Demirtas, Umut; Erkilic, Umut (Elsevier BV, 2008-11-01)
Aspergillus oryzae OUT5048 and Fusarium roseum OUT4019 were found to be effective biocatalysts in the reduction of benzils to optically active benzoins. Easily available symmetrical benzil derivatives were reduced to the corresponding benzoins [(S)-2-hydroxy-1,2-diphenylethanones] by A. oryzae OUT5048 with tip to 94% ee and by F roseum OUT4019 with up to 98% ee, respectively. In this Work. first general method for whole-cell-mediated selective reduction of benzils to benzoins is reported. It is also shown t...
Fusulinoidean faunas from the Upper Carboniferous and Lower Permian platform limestone in the Hadim area, Central Taurides, Turkey
Kobayashi, Fumio; Altıner, Demir (2008-07-01)
Sixty-one species assignable to 31 genera of Late Carboniferous and Early Permian fusulinoideans were distinguished from the Hadim area, central Taurides, Turkey. They are biostratigraphically divided into eleven zones in ascending order: Protriticites variabilis, Montiparus urnbonoplicatus and Schwageriniformis schwageriniformis zones in the Kasimovian; the figulites A formosus, Daixina asiatica and Rugosofusulina sp. A zones in the Gzhelian; Paraschwagerina sp. and Dutkevichia complicata zones in the Asse...
Meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid: from heavy metal chelation to CdS quantum dots
Sevinc, Esra; Ertas, F. Sinem; Ulusoy, Gulen; Özen, Can; Acar, Havva Yagci (2012-01-01)
DMSA (meso-2,3-dimercaptosuccinic acid) a prescription drug and a heavy-metal chelating agent, is shown to act both as a sulfur source and a capping agent in the aqueous synthesis of CdS quantum dots under mild conditions. Release of sulfur from DMSA depends on the solution pH and the reaction temperature. Combination of 70 degrees C and pH 7.5 was determined as the best reaction conditions for a well-controlled reaction. Changing the SH/Cd ratio from 2.5 to 7 provides QDs emitting from blue to orange with ...
Meso-piperidine linked bodipys: Synthesis, fluorescent properties and biological evaluation
Ecik, Esra Tanriverdi; Kazan, Hasan Huseyin; Sengul, Ibrahim F.; KANDEMİR, HAKAN; Cosut, Bunyemin (Elsevier BV, 2019-01-01)
The synthesis and characterization of meso-piperidine linked Bodipy starting from 4-(2-(piperidine-1-yl)ethoxy) benzaldehyde was described. Meso-piperidine linked Bodipy was subsequently used for the construction of distyryl-piperidine-Bodipy and distyryl-morpholine-Bodipy via Knoevenagel type reaction. The photophysical properties including molar extinction coefficient, fluorescence lifetime and fluorescence quantum yield of Bodipys were investigated in ethanol solution. The targeted compounds were also as...
MESOPOROUS SULPHATE DOPED HYDROXYAPATITE NANOPARTICLES FOR CONTROLLED RELEASE OF PROTEINS
ALSHEMARY, AMMAR Z.; Muhammed, Yasser; SALMAN, NADER A.; Motameni, Ali; Gürbüz, Rıza (2022-1-01)
All rights reserved. The purpose of this study is to synthesize and characterize the mesoporous nanostructure of Hydroxyapatite (HA), evaluate the impact of the addition of sulphate ions (SO42-) on the microstructure properties of HA, and assess the ability of the prepared materials to be used as a carrier for Bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein. This study successfully synthesized 0.07 mole of SO42- substituted HA using the reflux microwave-assisted wet precipitation method and fully characterized it using m...
