A bipyridinium dication-substituted Bodipy fluorophore, with a terminal carboxylic acid function, provides two alternative stations for cucurbit[7]uril. Changing pH from basic to acidic results in shuttling of the cucurbit[7]uril from one station to another. In addition, this shuttling is accompanied by a change in the emissive properties of the Bodipy dye, which is only observed in the presence of cucurbit[7]uril. More striking, is a demonstration of autonomous shuttling of the pseudorotaxane system in an oscillating pH system.

Efficient one-pot synthesis of cyanoferrocene from ferrocenecarboxaldehyde using NH2OH center dot HCl/KI/ZnO/CH3CN system
KIVRAK, Arif; Zora, Metin (Elsevier BV, 2007-05-01)
A new and efficient one-pot synthesis of cyanoferrocene from ferrocenecarboxaldehyde is described by employing the NH2OH center dot HCI/KI/ZnO/CH3CN system.
Benzaldehyde lyase-catalyzed enantioselective carboligation of aromatic aldehydes with mono- and dimethoxy acetaldehyde
Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı; Sesenoglu, O; Dunkelmann, P; Muller, M (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2003-06-12)
Benzaldehyde lyase from the Pseudomonas fluorescens catalyzes the reaction of aromatic aldehydes with methoxy and dimethoxy acetaldehyde and furnishes (R)-2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-1-arylpropan-1-one and (R)-2-hydroxy-3,3-dimethoxy-1-arylpropan-1-one in high yields and enantiomeric excess via acyloin linkage. Aromatic aldehydes and benzoins are converted into enamine-carbanion-like intermediates prior to carboligation.
Bifunctional squaramide catalyzed stereoselective Mannich reaction of alpha-azido ketones with isatin-derived ketimines
KARAHAN, SEDA; Tanyeli, Cihangir (Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), 2020-01-21)
Asymmetric organocatalytic Mannich reaction of alpha-azido ketones and N-Boc protected isatin-derived ketimines were investigated for the first time. Examination of both 2-adamantyl and 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)aniline substituted quinine-based squaramides afforded chiral Mannich bases with two contiguous stereogenic centers in high yields (up to 97%) and stereoselectivity (up to dr = 24 : 1 syn : anti and 96% ee). Azido and masked amino functionalities of the potent heterocycle precursor adducts were utiliz...
Highly efficient and selective olefination of acyl phosphonates with ethyl diazoacetate catalyzed by a cobalt(II) porphyrin complex
Erturk, Erkan; Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı (Elsevier BV, 2008-08-04)
The cobalt(II) porphyrin complex (CoTPP) was found to be an efficient catalyst for the Wittig type olefination of acyl phosphonates with ethyl diazoacetate (EDA) in the presence of triphenylphosphine (Ph(3)P). By using this one pot methodology under mild conditions, densely functionalized vinyl phosphonates were obtained in high yields and high E/Z selectivities in relatively short reaction times. A rather broad substrate spectrum and steric influence on the reaction rate were observed.
Fam-Ti catalyzed enantioselective alkynylation of aldehydes
KOYUNCU, Hasan; Doğan, Özdemir (American Chemical Society (ACS), 2007-08-16)
Ferrocenyl-substituted aziridinylmethanol (Fam-1) has been used as a chiral catalyst with titanium for enantioselective alkynylation of aromatic, heteroaromatic, aliphatic, and alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes to give the corresponding propargylic alcohols in up to 96% yield and 96% ee. The ligand can be prepared easily and recycled.
