TiO2-Al2O3 binary mixed oxide surfaces for photocatalytic NOx abatement
Soylu, Asli Melike; Polat, Meryem; Altunöz Erdoğan, Deniz; Say, Zafer; Yildirim, Cansu; Birer, Ozgur; Ozensoy, Emrah (2014-11-01)
TiO2-Al2O3 binary oxide surfaces were utilized in order to develop an alternative photocatalytic NOx abatement approach, where TiO2 sites were used for ambient photocatalytic oxidation of NO with O-2 and alumina sites were exploited for NOx storage. Chemical, crystallographic and electronic structure of the TiO2-Al2O3 binary oxide surfaces were characterized (via BET surface area measurements, XRD, Raman spectroscopy and DR-UV-Vis Spectroscopy) as a function of the TiO2 loading in the mixture as well as the...
PEO - A new hydrate inhibitor polymer
Karaaslan, U; Parlaktuna, Mahmut (2002-11-01)
The hydrate inhibition potential of four different polymers has been tested in a high-pressure apparatus at high pressures and low temperatures. Aqueous polymer solutions were prepared at 1 wt % concentration. Methane (99.5% purity) was used as hydrate former gas. Hydrate formation rates of the tests were calculated to decide the best inhibitors. A known hydrate inhibitor, poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) and a water-soluble thermoplastic polymer TEO) were determined the best kinetic inhibitors among them.
TL and OSL studies on gallium sulfide (GaS) single crystals
Isik, M.; YÜKSEL, MEHMET; TOPAKSU, MUSTAFA; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Elsevier BV, 2020-09-01)
Gallium sulfide (GaS) single crystals were investigated using thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) measurements. TL experiments performed in the room temperature (RT)-450 °C range presented a glow curve consisting in six single discrete peaks. Analyses of TL glow curve by computerized glow curve deconvolution method showed that the trapping centers responsible for peaks are located at 0.98, 1.09, 1.15, 1.76, 1.87 and 1.90 eV. The order of kinetics found between 1 and 2 indicat...
STORAX CONTAINING HYDROXYETHYL CHITOSAN -CARRAGEENAN HYDROGEL / ASYMMETRIC POLYCAPROLACTONE MEMBRANE BILAYER WOUND DRESSING
Nakipoğlu, Mustafa; Tezcaner, Ayşen; Özen, Can; Department of Biotechnology (2023-1-18)
Despite the advancement of modern technology, wound care is still based on traditional methods such as suture, staple and gauze around the world. Although, these methods provide affordable treatment for various types of wounds, they fall short in easy and effective treatment to facilitate healing process. Enabling a quicker and more convenient wound healing necessitates a comprehensive approach to wound dressing development to include simple yet multifunctional and versatile designs. In this work, we focuse...
TFA catalyzed sequential amination/annulation/aromatization reaction of 2-propynyl-1.3-dicarbonyl compounds with amines: A new one-pot approach to functionalized pyrroles
Demir, Ayhan Sıtkı; Aybey, Asuman; Kayalar, Metin (ARKAT USA, Inc., 2005-10-9)
Highly flexible and efficient syntheses of 1,2,3,5-substituted pyrroles starting from 2-propynyl1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and amines are presented. TFA catalyzed formation of the pyrroles is suggested to proceed through sequential amination of the carbonyl compounds followed by regioselective 5-exo-dig cyclization of the enaminone intermediate and aromatization.
