Archaeometrical investigation of some glass samples from Mersin Olba archaeological site
Doğan, Cem; Ertaş, Gülay; Akyol, Ali Akın; Department of Archaeometry (2014)
Olba archaeological site is located in Mersin, Turkey. It is one of the most important regions of Rough Cilicia. We performed the analyses of 34 glass objects (IV. and VII. centuries C.E.) from Olba archaeological site using PED-XRF and Raman spectroscopy techniques. XRF and Raman spectroscopy results are mostly compatible with each other. The chemical compositions of the Olba glass samples are similar to each other and the results showed that the glasses are all soda-lime-silica based glasses. Additionally...
