Bu bildiride, akıllı bir kirişin titreşim kontrolünde piezoelektrik (PZT) yamaların algılayıcı ve uyarıcı olarak kullanılması sunulmuştur. Akıllı kiriş olarak tanımlanmış yapı, piezoelektrik yamaların tek ucu tutturulmuş ve diğer ucu serbest olan alüminyum kirişin her iki yüzeyine simetrik olarak yapıştırılmasıyla oluşturulmuştur. Piezoelektrik malzemeler, boyutsal şekil değişikliklerine zorlandıklarında elektrik sinyali ürettikleri gibi elektriksel alana maruz bırakıldıklarında da boyutsal değişiklik meydana getirmektedirler. Bu özellikler piezoelektrik malzemelerin algılayıcı ve uyarıcı olarak kullanılmasını sağlamaktadır. Çalışmamızda öncelikle, piezoelektrik yamalar algılayıcı ve uyarıcı olarak kullanılarak sistemin frekans cevabı elde edilmişve analitik sistem modeli bulunmuştur. Daha sonra, bu sistem modeli kullanılarak gürbüz kontrolcü tasarımı yapılmıştır. Son olarak, akıllı kirişin serbest ve ilk rezonans frekansındaki zorlanmıştitreşim sonuçları açık ve kapalı döngüler olarak verilmiştir.
