This paper is conducted to highlight the motivational role of alternative assessment in the teaching/learning of English for specific purposes (ESP). The population is the students of Sudan International University (SIU). Mixed methods are adopted. The use of both thematic and statistical analysis techniques, has interpreted a significant encouraging correlation between students' final accomplishment and their achievement in in-class activities. Moreover, students' motivation towards the course of ESP is noticeably raised.
