Bu çalışmanın amacı, evlilikte kadına yönelik sözel, fiziksel şiddete ve şiddet sonucu ayrılmaya ilişkin tutumlar ile Çelişik Duygulu Cinsiyetçilik Ölçeği'nin alt faktörleri olan düşmanca ve korumacı cinsiyetçilik, yaş, eğitim ve aylık gelir düzeyi arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Öğrenci ve öğrenci olmayan katılımcılara Glick ve Fiske (1996) tarafından geliştirilmiş Çelişik Duygulu Cinsiyetçilik Ölçeği'nin Türkçe'ye uyarlanmış formu ve Evlilikte Kadına Yönelik Şiddete ilişkin Tutumlar Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Bulgular, erkekler açısından, düşmanca cinsiyetçiliğin evlilikte kadına uygulanan sözel, fiziksel şiddete ve ayrılmaya ilişkin tutumları yordadığını göstermektedir. Kadınlar açısından ise, düşmanca cinsiyetçiliğin yanı sıra, korumacı cinsiyetçiliğin de evlilikte kadına yönelik sözel şiddete ilişkin tutumları yordadığı, ancak fiziksel şiddet ve kadının ayrılmasına ilişkin tutumlarla ilişkisi olmadığı bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, yaş ve eğitim düzeyi, evlilikte kadına yönelik sözel, fiziksel şiddeti ve ayrılmaya ilişkin tutumları farklı düzeylerde yordayan değişkenler olarak bulunmuştur.
