DOPING AND BAND-GAP ENGINEERING OF AN INTRAZEOLITE TUNGSTEN(VI) OXIDE SUPRALATTICE
OZIN, GA; MALEK, A; PROKOPOWICZ, R; MACDONALD, PM; Özkar, Saim; MOLLER, K; BEIN, T (1991-01-01)
New results are presented concerning the topotactic self-assembly, n-type doping and band-gap engineering of an intrazeolite tungsten(VI) oxide supralattice n(WO3)-Na56Y, where O < n ≤ 32, built-up of single size and shape (WO3)2 dimers. In particular it has been found that the oxygen content of these dimers can be quantitatively adjusted by means of a thermal vacuum induced reversible reductive-elimination oxidative-addition of dioxygen. This provides access to new n(WO3−x)−Na56Y materials (0 < x ≤ 1.0) in...
Coating of iron oxide pellets for direct reduction
Basdag, A; Arol, Ali İhsan (2002-06-01)
Depending upon their chemical composition and, to a lesser extent, on their physical properties, iron oxide pellets exhibit varying degrees of sticking tendency during direct reduction at elevated temperatures. For an efficient shaft furnace operation in direct reduction (DR), it is imperative to prevent pellets from sticking to each other and, hence, forming clusters. Coating of pellets with a suitable inorganic material has increasingly been gaining recognition amongst the pellet producers and DR plant op...
Conducting polymer composites of polypyrrole and polyindene
Bozkurt, A; Akbulut, Ural; Toppare, Levent Kamil (1996-08-30)
Polypyrrole-polyindene composites were prepared via electrochemical methods. Two different approaches were utilized. In the first, the electro-initiated polymerization of indene on a platinum electrode was achieved at 2.0 V versus Ag/Ag+ in acetonitrile. Then the polyindene-coated electrode was used for the electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole at 1.0 V versus Ag/Ag+. In the second case, electrochemical coating of platinum electrode with polypyrrole at 1.0 V versus Ag/Ag+ was carried out and indene was ...
