The aim of this study is to provide a review of instructional design (ID) models and toenlighten the evolution of ID models. The review study starts from the generic ID model which isADDIE model, and continues to explore the other ID models. The review includes the articlesindexed in Thomson’s Web of Science database published between 2000 and 2016. In thiscontext, 43 articles were reached. After the analysis of these articles, 33 ID models were identifiedand 14 more articles related to these models were found. As a result of this study, the identified IDmodels are reported and grouped into categories according to their components.

Development of stem activities for high school physics classes
Kartal, Nurgün; Eryılmaz, Ali; Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education (2021-1-06)
The purpose of this study is to develop STEM Engineering Design Process (STEM-EDP) activities for 10th and above grade levels by using an ADDIE instructional design model. When the literature wasreviewed in detail, it was very rareSTEM-EDPactivities which are developed based on systematic models. Therefore, the characteristics of STEM activities were formed bythe basis of ADDIE model. Also, for the implementation processes of the STEM activities, 7-step EDP modelwas used. As a r...
DESIGN, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A QUESTION-ANSWER BASED INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN THEORY
Ataş, Amine Hatun; Yıldırım, Zahide (2017-11-18)
The purpose of this study is to document design, development, and implementation of a question-answer based instructional design theory. Sigel and Saunders (1977) state that many studies report the benefits of asking questions and being asked questions as enhancing students' thinking and reflects students' thinking process. The impact of asking question or being asked questions are inevitably influential on learning. As students experience quality questions and questioning, their awareness of learning arise...
Research trends in ceit ms and phd. theses in Turkey: a content analysis
Uğur Erdoğmuş, Feray; Çağıltay, Kürşat; Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (2009)
The main aim of this study is to look for trends in the instructional technology field in Turkey and to visualize general tendencies in the field in research topics, research types, and methodologies. Content analysis research design was used in this study. In this study, the unit of analysis was MS theses and PhD. theses published in instructional technology departments in Turkey, and the researcher aimed to analyze all of the population. Hence, 215 MS theses and 32 PhD. theses were analyzed in this study....
An Investigation of emergence, development and types of open design: a case study on socially responsible design approach
Altınova, Hale; Hasdoğan, Gülay Fatma; Department of Industrial Design (2019)
The purpose of this study is to examine the emergence, development and types of open design and to evaluate its effects on a socially responsible design project. For this purpose, a two-stage study was performed. The first stage involves a literature review on open design. In the second phase, a case study was conducted to explore the effect of open design on a socially responsible design project that involved interviews conducted with the founder and volunteers in a project in Turkey that has adopted the p...
An investigation of pre-service mathematics teachers' semiotic representations and modeling routes in a mathematical modeling activity
Çetinbaş, Merve; Çetinkaya, Bülent; Department of Mathematics Education (2022-9-1)
This study aimed to examine the characteristics of pre-service mathematics teachers' mathematical modeling processes in terms of semiotic representations and the modeling routes varying within the scope of these characteristics. Participants were 13 pre-service teachers studying at a state university in Ankara and enrolled in an elective course entitled “Mathematical Modeling for Teachers.” Data were collected through a technology-integrated mathematical modeling activity. The pre-service mathematics teache...
