Comprehensive Analyses of Gaussian Graphical Model under Different Biological Networks
Dokuzoglu, D.; Purutçuoğlu Gazi, Vilda (2017-09-01)
Naturally, genes interact with each other by forming a complicated network and the relationship between groups of genes can be shown by different functions as gene networks. Recently, there has been a growing concern in uncovering these complex structures from gene expression data by modeling them mathematically. The Gaussian graphical model is one of the very popular parametric approaches for modelling the underlying types of biochemical systems. In this study, we evaluate the performance of this probabili...
Comprehensive evaluation of equivalent linear analysis method for seismic-isolated structures represented by sdof systems
Dicleli, Murat (2007-08-01)
In this study, the equivalent linear (EL) analysis procedure used in the design of seismic-isolated structures is evaluated. The effect of several parameters such as the intensity and frequency characteristics of the ground motion, isolator properties and the structure mass are considered in the evaluation. First, the EL analysis procedure is evaluated using harmonic ground motions with various excitation periods and a suite of 15 seismic ground motions with various frequency characteristics. Then, the effe...
Comprehensive analysis and modeling of landfill leachate
Ergene, Didar; Aksoy, Ayşegül; KURTULUŞ, DİLEK FUNDA (2022-05-15)
© 2022 Elsevier LtdLandfill leachate data compiled from 220 different landfills from 46 countries in Europe, Middle East, Asia, Africa, and America was analysed by multivariate statistical approaches. Data pre-treatment procedure such as handling of outliers, completion of missing data, and standardization of data was applied to prepare the raw data matrix for the complex statistical analyses including cluster and principal component analyses (PCA). Regression modeling was conducted to estimate leachate par...
Comprehensive Evaluation of the Biological Properties of Surface-Modified Titanium Alloy Implants
Piszczek, Piotr; Radtke, Aleksandra; Ehlert, Michalina; Jedrzejewski, Tomasz; Sznarkowska, Alicja; Sadowska, Beata; Bartmanski, Michal; Erdoğan, Yaşar Kemal; Ercan, Batur; Jedrzejczyk, Waldemar (2020-02-01)
An increasing interest in the fabrication of implants made of titanium and its alloys results from their capacity to be integrated into the bone system. This integration is facilitated by different modifications of the implant surface. Here, we assessed the bioactivity of amorphous titania nanoporous and nanotubular coatings (TNTs), produced by electrochemical oxidation of Ti6Al4V orthopedic implants' surface. The chemical composition and microstructure of TNT layers was analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spec...
Detailed investigation of electron transport, capture and, gain in Al0.3Ga0.7As/GaAs quantum well infrared photodetectors
Cellek, OO; Beşikci, Cengiz (IOP Publishing, 2004-02-01)
We present an investigation of Al0.3Ga0.7As/GaAs quantum well infrared photodetectors (QWIPs) through detailed ensemble Monte Carlo simulations. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional electrons are simulated with realistically evaluated scattering rates. Transport of the excited electrons is accurately modelled including the reflections from well-barrier interfaces. The details incorporated into the simulator clarified some important phenomena, as well as verifying the previous predictions. Under large ...
