On qos multicast routing protocols
Bereketli, Alper; Bazlamaçcı, Cüneyt Fehmi; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
Multicasting is a technique used for distributing data packets from one or more sources to a set of receivers on interconnected networks. Currently developing network applications bring specific quality of service (QoS) requirements like bounded delay, minimum bandwidth, and maximum data loss rate. Providing the required quality of service addresses routing and resource reservation concepts. In this study, a literature survey is carried out on traditional and QoS multicast routing protocols, and the need fo...
On the linearly hardening rotating solid shaft
Eraslan, Ahmet Nedim (2003-03-01)
Analytical solutions are obtained for elastic-plastic deformations of a linearly hardening rotating solid shaft with fixed ends and with free ends. All stages of elastic-plastic deformations are studied using Tresca's yield condition and the flow rule associated with it. Expressions for the stresses, displacement and plastic strains for a perfectly plastic shaft can be deduced from the expressions of linearly hardening shaft by letting the hardening parameter vanish. On Channel Output Feedback in Deterministic Interference Channels
Sahai, Achaleshwar; Aggarwal, Vaneet; Yüksel Turgut, Ayşe Melda; Sabharwal, Ashutosh (2009-01-01)
In this paper, we study the effect of channel output feedback on the sum capacity in a two-user symmetric deterministic interference channel. We find that having a single feedback link from one of the receivers to its own transmitter results in the same sum capacity as having a total of 4 feedback links from both the receivers to both the transmitters. Hence, from the sum capacity point of view, the three additional feedback links are not helpful. We also consider a half-duplex feedback model, where the for...
On the elastic-plastic shrink fit with supercritical interference
Gamer, U; Müftü, Sinan (Wiley, 1990)
Shrink fits with perfectly elastic-plastic hub material cannot be treated with the help of Tresca's yield criterion, if the ratio of outer and inner diameter as well as the interference exceed certain limits. For linear hardening material, however, a solution exists for all radii ratios. It is shown that, for small hardening, the material in the neighbourhood of the interface undergoes a twofold change of the yield condition.
