This paper focuses on viable position estimation schemes for timing belt drives where the position of the carriage (load) is to be calculated via reference models accepting input from a position sensor on the actuator of the timing belt. A detailied analysis on the source of transmission errors is presented a number of relevant mathematical modeis are developed utilizing a priori knowledge on the process. The paper illustrates that such schemes are very effective when the drive system is not subjected to external loads es well as widely changing operating conditions such as ambient temperature, belt tension.

Analysis and Design of Passive and Active Interconnected Hydro Pneumatic Suspension Systems in Roll Plane
Sağlam, Ferhat; Ünlüsoy, Yavuz Samim (2015-05-19)
In this study, analysis and design of a half car model in roll plane with passive and active unconnected and interconnected Hydro-Pneumatic (HP) suspension systems are made. An interconnection configuration with a connection between the piston side oil volume and rod side oil volume of the right and left suspensions, respectively, is considered. The performance of the active unconnected HP and interconnected HP suspension systems are compared in terms of ride comfort and handling. Nonlinear mathematical mod...
MATHEMATICAL-MODELS USED IN GEAR DYNAMICS - A REVIEW
Özgüven, Hasan Nevzat (1988-03-22)
With increased demand for high speed machinery, the mathematical modelling of the dynamic analysis of gears has gained importance. Numerous mathematical models have been developed for different purposes in the past three decades. In this paper the mathematical models used in gear dynamics are discussed and a general classification of these models is made. First, the basic characteristics of each class of dynamic models along with the objectives and different parameters considered in modeling are discussed. ...
Design optimization of variable frequency driven three-phase induction motors
Ertan, B; Leblebicioğlu, Mehmet Kemal; Simsir, B; Hamarat, S; Cekic, A; Pirgaip, M (1998-01-01)
An approach to optimize the design of three-phase induction motors for a wide speed range drive is considered. Two operating points in the speed range are taken into consideration. The problem is handled as a constrained optimization problem. An accurate model for the motor in terms of its dimensions has been developed which predicts the motor performance based on about 60 parameters of motor geometry.
Simulation of Dynamic Operation in Salient Pole Synchronous Machines
Dordea, Toma; Munteanu, Radu; Campeanu, Aurel (2011-09-10)
The design of today's high performance synchronous motors must take into account not only the steady state but also practically inevitable dynamic regimes. In such conditions an accurate predetermination of the parameters and constructive solution by modeling and simulation of the given dynamic operation, becomes a mandatory step. In this aim, in the present paper a novel mathematical model of the high power salient pole synchronous machine (SPSM) is elaborated. We proposed to consider especially the effect...
