Even though scientific literacy is main goal of science education; there is no valid, reliable and comprehensive scale to assess students’ scientific literacy. Therefore, this study aims to adapt Global Scientific Literacy Questionnaire (Mun et al., 2015) in Turkish context to fill the gap regarding assessment of students’ scientific literacy level. It is a 48 item 5 point Likert type scale having four dimensions which are habits of mind, character and values, science as human endeavour and metacognition Pilot study included 460 middle school students. Confirmatory Factor Analysis was conducted to data obtained from pilot study (RMSEA= .04; χ 2 / df= 1.78; SRMR= .048; CFI= .97; NFI = .93). Consistent with original study (Mun et al., 2015), this study confirmed four dimensions of the scale and Cronbach alpha coefficient was found higher than .75 for each of the components in pilot and main study. To sum up, it is thought that a valid and reliable questionnaire used to assess students’ scientific literacy has been gained to literature.
