The study of the mechanical impedance of foods and biomaterials to characterize their linear viscoelastic behavior at high frequencies
Mert, Behiç (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2008-09-01)
A new instrumental setup, which is based on the oscillatory squeezing flow model, was developed to characterize the viscoelastic properties of foods and biopolymers. Analysis of the data was performed by two different approaches. The first approach employed principles of vibration to determine viscous damping and elasticity of the sample harmonically compressed between two plates. The second approach involved the use of additional calculations based on the squeezing flow model which were linked to concepts ...
The investigation of quantum efficiency constituents of InAs/AlSb/GaSb based N structure type-II SL photodetectors with InAlAs interface
KILIÇ, ALİ YAVUZ; TANSEL, TUNAY; HOŞTUT, MUSTAFA; ELAGÖZ, SEZAİ; ERGÜN, YÜKSEL (IOP Publishing, 2018-09-01)
We report on the optical properties of InAs/AlSb/GaSb based Type-II superlattice N-structure with p on n configuration. The detector structure is designed to operate in the mid wavelength infrared range with 50% cut-off wavelength of 4.88 mu m at 79 K. Electronic properties of N-structure such as heavy hole-light hole splitting energies are optimized by a first principles approach taking into account InAlAs interface bonding between InAs/AlSb layers. A responsivity of 1.13 A/Wat 3.2 mu m was measured under ...
The numerical study of pumping configurations on the lasing efficiency in photonic crystal fiber Raman laser
Berberoglu, Halil; Tarman, Işık Hakan (2013-01-01)
Cw Raman lasing characteristics of highly nonlinear photonic crystal fibers (PCF) are numerically investigated. The numerical approach is based on a pseudospectral algorithm developed earlier. Different pumping (forward, backward, and bidirectional) configurations are numerically simulated and the resultant efficiencies are shown to be the same under similar conditions. It is shown that the differences arise due to the pump being either single- or double-pass. (c) 2012 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
