Hasar, herhangi bir yapıda yapısal niteliklerin bozulmasından dolayı o yapının taşıyabileceği ve/veya dayanabileceği sınır yükün düşmesi olarak tanımlanabilir. Bu düşüş, yapının işlevini tamamen ve aniden kaybetmesi olasılığını artırır. Bu durumdan kaçınmak özellikle havacılıkta hayati önem arz etmektedir. Bu bildiri, ankastre izotropik kiriş benzeri yapılarda hasar yerinin ve şiddetinin tespitinde kullanılmak üzere tasarlanmış olan genetik algoritma ile lineer olmayan eniyileme sistemini sunmaktadır
