Geotechnical Investigations at two NPP Sites in Turkey
Karpuz, Celal (null; 1988-09-12)
The geotechnical investigations carried out at two different NPP sites are Part of the detailed site investigation program. It includes studies such as, assessment of rock mass conditions encountered at the two NPP sites and determination of geotechnical parameters by field investigations, determination of physical and mechanical properties of the basic rock types by laboratory tests, evaluation of the stability of foundations and pit slopes under design loading conditions by engineering analyses. Based on ...

SYNTHESIS OF TiO2 NANOSTRUCTURES VIA HYDROTHERMAL METHOD
Bilgin, Nursev; Agartan, Lutfi; PARK, JONGEE; Öztürk, Abdullah (2014-10-16)
Titania (TiO2) nanostructures were produced via hydrothermal method using amorphous TiO2 powders synthesized by the sol-gel precipitation process. The hydrothermal system was isolated from the environment and hydrothermal reactions were allowed to execute at 130 degrees C for 36 h at autogeneous pressure, and at a stirring rate of 250 rpm. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis revealed that TiO2 nanofibers formed instead of nanotubes upon utilization of amorphous TiO2 precursor. After hydrothermal syn...
Stability investigations along the Ordu peripheral highway (KM: 21+000-KM: 40+114)
Sopacı, Evrim; Akgün, Haluk; Department of Geological Engineering (2003)
The Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey accomodates indecent residence conditions for people owing to ground conditions comprising of volcanics and concurrent flysch, and its related irregular geomorphology. One of the important difficulties in this region is transportation. Accordingly, the ordu peripheral highway which encompasses various structures such as, open cuts, bridges, viaducts and junctions and double tubed tunnel sections which will be driven in these geological and geomorphological conditions i...
