Analysis of ligand-receptor cross-linked fragments by mass spectrometry
Son, Çağdaş Devrim; Hurst, GB; Naider, F; Becker, JM (Wiley, 2005-03-01)
G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are a class of integral membrane receptor proteins that are characterized by a signature seven-transmembrane (7-TM) configuration. The alpha-factor receptor (Ste2p) from Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a GPCR that, upon binding of a peptide ligand, transduces a signal to initiate a cascade of events leading to the mating of haploid yeast cells. This study summarizes the application of affinity purification and of matrix-assisted laser-desorption ionization time-of-flight (MAL...
Analysis of velocity profiles in concentrated solid-liquid mixtures using ultrasound doppler velocimetry
Taşkın, Ahmet Fırat; Ayrancı Tansık, İnci; Uludağ, Yusuf; Department of Chemical Engineering (2021-7)
Stirred tanks are widely used for a variety of processes in industry such as solid dispersion, crystallization and dissolution processes. Several parameters are used to optimize these stirred tank processes such as impeller type, tank geometry and impeller speed. The flow field in the stirred tank is complex and varies depending on these parameters. In these processes diffusion and chemical reaction rate depend on the flow field and velocity fluctuations; therefore, information about the flow field is valua...
Analysis of boron doped hydrogenated amorphous silicon carbide thin film for silicon heterojunction solar cells
Salimi, Arghavan; Turan, Raşit; Department of Micro and Nanotechnology (2019)
Silicon based solar cells are the dominant type of solar cells in the photovoltaic industry. Recently, there have been increasing efforts to develop c-Si solar cells with higher efficiency and lower cost. Among them, silicon heterojunction solar cell (SHJ) is attracting much attention because of its superior performance values demonstrated at both R&D and industrial levels. One of the common limiting criteria is the recombination at the front side which can be solved by providing proper passivation at the f...
Analysis of preformed plasma condition of Ni-like Mo X-ray laser media
İnce, Sevi; Bilikmen, Kadri Sinan; Department of Physics (2006)
The aim of this work is to produce X-ray laser source from a plasma produced by focusing a pulsed laser beam on a solid target. Preformed Molybdenum plasma is created by using Nd:YAG laser pulses with a pulse duration 6 ns and pulse intensity 5.09x1011 W/cm2. Detailed simulations of Ni-like Mo X-ray laser media are undertaken using the EHYBRID code which is a hydrodynamic code. X-ray resonance lines between 25 Å and 40 Å emitted from the molybdenum plasma have been obtained and analysed. EHYBRID code also g...
