This study highlights the diffusion phenomena in hypersonic flow regimes. It is an important event that has to be define in the flow field solutions. There are two famous diffusion model; Fick’s Law of Diffusion and Stefan-Maxwell Diffusion Equation. Both are included in the calculations. The model differences are observed both physically and mathematically. Finally, their results are examined for each of the species.

Experimental Characterization of Micro Vortex Generators in Low Speed Flows
Akpolat, Tuğrul; Abdulrahim, Anas; Hassanein, Abdelrahman; Uzol, Oğuz; Perçin, Mustafa (2021-09-08)
In this study, we present the experimental results of the characterization of micro-ramp type Micro Vortex Generators (MVGs) in low-speed flows. The undisturbed boundary layer profile was measured by means of Hot-Wire Anemometry. Two MVGs with the same design but different height-to-boundary layer thickness ratios are used in this study. Two-dimensional twocomponent particle image velocimetry measurements are conducted in the wake of the MVGs. The results reveal the lift-off of the wake away from the wall f...
Wave Propagation in Poroelastic Media Saturated by Two Fluids
Tuncay, Kağan (ASME International, 1997-6-1)
A theory of wave propagation in isotropic poroelastic media saturated by two immiscible Newtonian fluids is presented. The macroscopic constitutive relations, and mass and momentum balance equations are obtained by volume averaging the microscale balance and constitutive equations and assuming small deformations. Momentum transfer terms are expressed in terms of intrinsic and relative permeabilities assuming the validity of Darcy’s law. The coefficients of macroscopic constitutive relations are expr...
Pion electroproduction in parity violating elastic ep scattering experiment
Ong, S; Rekalo, MP; Van de Wiele, J (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1999-10-01)
This study has been developed for electron-proton scattering experiments when only the scattered electrons are detected. Pion electroproduction on the proton including the cascade pi(o) --> 2 gamma decay and the QED radiative corrections to elastic ep scattering are investigated. Our results are shown in the kinematical configuration of the parity violating electron scattering experiment planned at the Mainz Microtron (MAMI).
Frequency-domain prediction of turbofan noise radiation
Özyörük, Yusuf; Alpman, E; Ahuja, V; Long, LN (2004-03-05)
This paper describes a frequency-domain numerical method for predicting noise radiation from ducted fans, including acoustic treatment and non-uniform background flow effects. The method solves the Euler equations linearized about a mean flow in the frequency domain. A pseudo-time derivative term is added to the frequency-domain equations so that a time marching technique can be employed to drive the acoustic field to steady state explicitly. This approach makes distributed parallel computing more viable fo...
Uncertainty quantification by using stochastic approach in pore volume calculation for geothermal reservoir
Gürel, Emrah; Akın, Serhat; Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (2015)
This study will present the application of a stochastic approach and experimental design techniques to a geologic system in order to quantify the uncertainty of pore volume estimations for a liquid dominated high temperature geothermal reservoir. The pore volume is a key element when defining the total resource available in the field. Alasehir geothermal reservoir pore volume uncertainty has been assessed. The uncertainties being addressed include geometry (top of reservoir and base of reservoir), reservoir...
