The interaction between Ag/Pd bimetallic nanoparticles and cysteine was introduced as a new and high potential colorimetric probe for the selective, sensitive and low-cost recognition and monitoring of cysteine in aqueous samples. In the presence of NaCl, cysteine was able to induce the aggregation of Ag/Pd bimetallic nanoparticles thereby resulting in a change in yellowish-brown color of the Ag/Pd colloid to green. The presence of 6.6 mM NaCl in the samples decreases the electrostatic repulsion and accelerates the aggregation of Ag/Pd nanoparticles. The sensitivity and selectivity of the proposed sensor toward the other amino acids were studied too. This simple assay was rapid (5 min) and highly sensitive (limit of detection (LOD) = 3.3 nM)), selective and it can be used for rapid monitoring of cysteine in real pharmaceutical formulation. Highly selective Hg2+ colorimetric sensor using green synthesized and unmodified silver nanoparticles
Farhadi, Khalil; Forough, Mehrdad; Molaei, Rahim; Hajizadeh, Salahaddin; Rafipour, Aysan (2012-01-01)
The reaction between biologically green synthesized silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) and mercury (II) ions was introduced as a new and high potential calorimetric sensor for the selective recognition and monitoring of mercuric ions in aqueous samples. The green synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) ultraviolet spectroscopy (UV-vis), SEM and X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) techniques. The fresh biologically synthesized silver nanoparticles are yellowish-brown ...
Silver nanoparticles as a new colorimetric probe for determination of oxalic acid in urine
Basharzad, Parisa Fateh; Farhadi, Khalil; Forough, Mehrdad; Molaei, Rahim (2016-09-01)
A new and high potential colorimetric sensor for the selective recognition and monitoring of oxalic acid (OA) in aqueous samples has been developed based on the interaction between OA and unmodified silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The fresh synthesized silver nanoparticles are yellowishbrown in color due to the intense SPR absorption band. It was found that AgNPs were aggregated in the presence of oxalic acid, resulting in a considerable decrease in the intensity of the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorpt...
Modified acrylic hydrogels as controlled release systems
Pınardağ, Fatma Esra; Hasırcı, Nesrin; Department of Chemistry (2006)
In this study, pH-sensitive poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid) hydrogels were synthesized as controlled release systems in the presence of N,N-methylene bisacrylamide as crosslinker and ammonium persulfate as initiator. A set of hydrogels were used in the form they were prepared. One set of hydrogels were prepared as porous networks by incorporating sodium chloride into the reaction medium and then leaching of it after the completion of polymerization reaction. Two sets of hydrogels were modified by argon-pla...
Rapid ionic liquid-supported nano-hybrid composite reinforced hollow-fiber electromembrane extraction followed by field-amplified sample injection-capillary electrophoresis: An effective approach for extraction and quantification of Imatinib mesylate in human plasma
Forough, Mehrdad; Farhadi, Khalil; Eyshi, Ali; Molaei, Rahim; Khalili, Hedayat; Kouzegaran, Vahid Javan; Matin, Amir Abbas (2017-09-01)
The focus of this study is development of a new, convenient, rapid and sensitive electromembrane extraction approach (based on an ionic liquid-supported MWCNTs/ZnO reinforced hollow fiber, for the first time) as an off-line sample clean-upipreconcentration method coupled with capillary electrophoresis (CE-UV) using field-amplified sample injection (FASI) for quantification of Imatinib mesylate in human plasma. The nano-hybrid sorbent, coated by 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ionic liquid (E0M1m]Br) in ...
Synthesis of bistriphenylamine- and benzodithiophene-based random conjugated polymers for organic photovoltaic applications
CETIN, Asli; ISTANBULLUOGLU, Cagla; HACIOGLU, Serife Ozdemir; CEVHER, ŞEVKİ CAN; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Çırpan, Ali (2017-11-15)
In this study, donor-acceptor random polymers containing benzotriazole acceptor and bistriphenylamine and benzodithiophene donors, P1 and P2, were successfully synthesized by Stille coupling polymerization. The effect of bistriphenylamine moiety and thiophene -conjugated linker on electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, and optical behaviors of the polymers were investigated. Optoelectronic properties and photovoltaic performance of the polymers were examined under the illumination of AM 1.5G, 100 mWcm(-2)...
