To date, although a number of studies have focused on understanding the fundamental properties of Cu-poor/Zn-rich Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) single crystals, little attention has been paid to investigate the physical properties of those with a Cu-rich / Zn-poor chemical composition. Therefore, in this study, the structural and electrical properties of Cu-rich/Zn-poor CZTS single crystal grown by the Bridgman technique have been studied in order to fill this gap in literature. XRD and Raman findings confirm the growth of CZTS single crystal having a kesterite phase without secondary phases. Hall and temperature dependent conductivity measurements reveal the presence of VCu and CuZn antisite point defects in CZTS during the growth stage with thermal activation energies of 15 meV and ∼100 meV, respectively. Hall mobility, resistivity and hole carrier concentration values at room temperature were found to be 1.2 cm2/V.s, 16.2 Ω.cm and 3.1 × 1017 cm−3, respectively.

Synthesis of some novel derivatives of 2,6-diaminoanthraquinone dyes
Yildirir, Yilmaz; Özdemir, Melek; Disli, Ali; Çolak, Naki (2008-11-01)
In present study, some derivatives of 2,6-diaminoanthraquinone dyes are synthesized and their UV-visible spectra are investigated in various conditions. Ten compounds (la-e) and (2a-e), two of which (1a, 1b) were previously obtained in low yields, have been synthesized by using diazonium salts of 2,6-diaminoanthraquinone and characterized by spectroscopic methods.
Investigation of thermoluminescence properties of metal oxide doped lithium triborate
Oezdemir, Zeynep; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Yılmaz, Aysun (2007-10-01)
In this study, lithium triborate (LiB3O5) doped with different metal oxides were investigated to explore its thermoluminescence properties. Solid-state reaction method was employed for the synthesis of the desired materials. The formation of the produced phases was confirmed by Powder X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Infrared (IR), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) examinations. It was found that, CuO and Al2O3 doped lithium triborate samples exhibit very significant thermol...
Synthesis of ferrocenyl substituted quinolines
Velioğlu, Özlem; Zora, Metin; Department of Chemistry (2008)
Quinolines have been studied for over a century as an important class of heterocyclic compounds and continue to attract considerable interest due to the broad range of biological activities they possess. The incorporation of the essential structural features of quinolines with a ferrocene moiety could provide new derivatives with unexpected and/or enhanced biological activities since several ferrocene derivatives have already been shown to be active against a number of tumors. For this reason, we investigat...
Characterization of c-axis oriented Y-Ba-Cu-O thin films prepared by PVD on LaAlO3 (100) and SrTiO3 (100) substrates
Ozenbas, MA; Gungoren, T (Elsevier BV, 2000-11-01)
In this study, high T-c superconducting thin films of Y-Ba-Cu-O system have been prepared onto single crystals of LaAlO3 (100) and SrTiO3 (100) by resistive evaporation of YF3, BaF2 and Cu powders and a subsequent multi-stage annealing. In the deposition process, two different methods were used: mixed-powder method and sequential-deposition method. The best quality films were achieved on LaAlO3 substrates by using sequential-deposition technique with offset critical transition temperature of 88.1 K. Charact...
Dating of Laodikeia (Denizli) building ceramics using optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) techniques
Demirtürk, Tayfun; Özer, Ay Melek; Department of Physics (2006)
The objective of this study is to perform Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating on the ceramic samples from different parts of the Laodikeia by using Infra Red Stimulated Luminescence (IRSL) on polyminerals. As a first step, a literature survey has been done about the dating system and the methodology of dating. The calibration of the system was done before carrying out the experiments. The six ceramic samples were collected from the site and dated. The mineral compositions of the samples were exam...
