In this sense, the purpose of the study was to investigate the correlation between self-efficacies of English teachers and language teaching methods they employ. Method: This study used quantitative correlational design. 367 English language teachers participated in the study. ELT Context-Specific Teacher Efficacy Instrument and Language Teaching Methods Scale were used in order to collect the data. Descriptive statistics, Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation, and path analysis were used to analyse the data.Findings: The results indicated that English teachers’ self-efficacy levels were high and they employed Communication Oriented Teaching more. There was a statistically significant correlation between self-efficacies of English teachers and language teaching methods they employed. The findings also revealed that the self-efficacy of English teachers was a significant predictor of the language teaching methods they employed. Implications for Research and Practice: This study found that as the self-efficacy levels of English teachers increased, they were more inclined to employ communication-oriented teaching methods. Therefore, both pre-service and in-service training should pay attention to the teachers’ self-efficacies. Self-efficacies of English teachers should be considered as something important for a desired language teaching experience.

© 2017 Ani Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.Purpose: Science education literature has indicated that teachers do not always feel comfortable teaching socioscientific issues (SSI) that are infused with several social domains. In order to address this problem in teaching SSI, this study is designed to understand and describe the experiences of a science teacher and a social studies teacher, who collaboratively designed and taught an SSI-based environmental ethics class. Research Methods: The purpose of thi...

All rights reserved.Problem Statement: Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education aims at improving students’ knowledge and skills in science and math, and thus their attitudes and career choices in these areas. The ultimate goal in STEM education is to create scientifically literate individuals who can survive in the global economy. The identification of new learning outcomes, curriculum programs, and teaching practices needs to be clarified by the STEM educati...
The mediator role of perceived social support in the relationship between difficulties in emotion regulation and suicide tendency

© 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature. While literature maintained a strong association between emotion regulation skills and suicidal behavior, relatively less is known as to what extent this relationship goes through different dimensions of perceived social support. The purpose of the present study is to examine the possible mediator role of divergent aspects of perceived social support (family, friends, and significant other) in the...
The mechanical and electronic properties of spinel oxides VX2O4 (X = Mn and Fe) by first principle calculations

First principles study of the vibrational and thermo-elastic properties of BaScO3 perovskite oxide
Gencer, A.; Sürücü, Gökhan (2019-11-25)
© 2019 Author(s).The vibrational and thermo-elastic properties of BaScO3 compound have been investigated using Density Functional Theory (DFT) with Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package (VASP). Perovskite materials could crystallize in five possible crystal structures: orthorhombic, tetragonal, rhombohedral, hexagonal, and cubic. Therefore, BaScO3 has been investigated for these five possible crystal structures and the most stable phase has been determined as the orthorhombic phase. Then, the vibrational prop...
