Almost 25, 50 and 75 microns of copper were deposited on aluminum alloys by using copper sulfate and copper pyrophosphate baths. And also, 20, 40 and 60 mA/cm2 current density were applied during electroplating process. After electroplating process, copper deposited aluminum pieces were brazed at 570℃ for 15 minutes by using furnace brazing in the first part of study. Shear test were applied to samples and strength of the joint which was brazed with sample that had 75 microns thickness coated at 60 mA/cm2 current density was measured higher than the others. Electroplating parameters of the highest shear strength sample in the first part were used in the second part. 560℃, 570℃ and 580℃ were used as brazing temperature and brazing process was performed for 5 and 15 minutes. It was observed that shear strength of joint was affected from changing brazing temperature and time and the highest shear strength was measured as 3302 N. This sample was brazed at 580℃ for 15 minutes.

Investigation of effect of colemanite addition on copper losses in matte smelting slag
Rusen, A.; Geveci, Ahmet; Topkaya, Yavuz Ali; Derin, B. (2012-04-01)
In this study, the aim was to reduce copper losses to slag in copper production by using a boron compound, called colemanite (2CaO center dot 3B(2)O(3)center dot 5H(2)O), as flux, besides silica. In order to achieve this purpose, two different matte-slag couples were used; the flash furnace matte-slag obtained from Eti Copper Inc. (EBI.) and a master matte-slag without copper produced synthetically under laboratory conditions. Chemical analyses of flash furnace slag and synthetic master slag were 0.88%Cu-36...
Effects of pressure and electric field on the charge transport mechanisms in the silver-modified-zeolite porous microstructure
Koc, Sevgul Ozturk; Koseoglu, Kivilcim; Galioglu, Sezin; Akata Kurç, Burcu; SALAMOV, BAHTİYAR (2016-03-15)
The electrical properties and charge transport mechanisms for nanoporous natural zeolite of clinoptilolite and its silver modified form were studied for the first time in a wide gas pressure range (4-760 Torr) and electric field strength (50-350 kV/cm) at room temperature using two different cell configurations. One of the used cells contained a gas discharge gap, which allowed investigating the electronic conduction route in zeolite cathodes (ZC) as well. The influence of pressure, electric field and cell ...
Effect of Electrodeposition Parameters on the Current Density of Hydrogen Evolution Reaction in Ni and Ni-MoS2 Composite Coatings
Gueler, E. Saraloglu; KONCA, ERKAN; Karakaya, İshak (2013-04-01)
Nickel composites with co-deposited insoluble, solid lubricant particles such as MoS2 have been reported to reduce friction. It is known that hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), competes with nickel deposition. The influence of the parameters and their interaction effects on the peak current density of HER during the electrodeposition of Ni and Ni-MoS2 composite coatings were studied by fractional factorial design. The parameters and their ranges studied were; MoS2 particle concentration (0-30 g/l), temperat...
Effect of N-methylimidazole and 3,5-dimethylpyrazole ligands on the polymerization of di(2,6-dichlorophenolato) Cu(II)/Co(II) complexes in the solid state
Baştürkmen, M.; Hacaloğlu, Jale; Kisakürek, D. (2004-03-15)
The polymerization of 2,6-dichlorophenol (DCPH) was achieved through the thermal decomposition of copper complexes of DCPH with N-methylimidazole (NMIz) and 3,5-dimethylpyrazole (DMPz) ligands. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), mass spectrometry, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility balance, electron spin resonance, X-ray analysis, and elemental analysis were used to characterize the complexes. The polymerizatio...
Effect of Cu addition on the microstructural constituents and mechanical properties of twin roll cast AlFeMnSi alloys
Meydanoglu, Onur; Birbaşar, Onur; Ulus, Ali; Beyhan, Bariş; Kalay, Yunus Eren (2015-01-01)
In this study, the effect of copper addition on microstructural evolution, mechanical and corrosion properties of twin roll cast (TRC) AlFeMnSi alloy system mainly used in container foil applications was investigated. Microstructural characterization studies were conducted on as-cast, homogenization annealed and final products by employing optical and scanning electron microscopes. The mechanical properties of the samples obtained from compositional were determined at the thickness of final product by tensi...
