Design and characterization of metamaterials for terahertz region
Nebioğlu, Mehmet Ali; Altan, Hakan; Sabah, Cumali; Department of Physics (2016)
Metamaterials are manmade structures whose electromagnetic properties can be controlled with subwavelength inclusions. Due to this property metamaterials has gained importance in the terahertz region. Although terahertz radiation has many important applications in communication, astronomy, spectroscopy, imaging, biology and sensing, lack of materials which gives a response in this range decelerated development of devices to control and manipulate the terahertz waves. Metamaterials show a large potential to ...
Synthesis of conducting copolymer of succinic acid bis-(pyrrolyl-phenyl) ester with thiophene

Synthesis and characterization of conducting block copolymers of thiophene-ended polystyrene with polypyrrole
Alkan, S; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hepuzer, Y; Yagci, Y (2001-03-15)
4,4' Azobis 4-cyano3-thiophenemethyl pentanate (ACTMP) was synthesized from 3-Thiophenemethanol and 4,4'-Azobis (4-cyanopentanoyl chloride). ACTMP was further used in the synthesis of polystyrene with thiophene terminal groups (TPSt) at both ends. Conducting block copolymers of TPSt and pyrrole (TPSt/PPy) were electrochemically prepared using several supporting electrolytes. Characterization of these block copolymers were performed.

Preparation of Layer-by-Layer Films with Remarkably Different pH-Stability and Release Properties Using Dual Responsive Block Copolymer Micelles
Gündoğdu, Dilara; Butun, Vural; Erel Göktepe, İrem (2018-08-01)
Layer-by-layer (LbL) films of micelles of poly[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate]-b-poly[(2-(diethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)] (PDMA-b-PDEA) and poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) (PSS) with remarkably different pH-stability and release properties are obtained via tuning film deposition conditions in a narrow pH and temperature range. Multilayers constructed at pH 8.5/25 degrees C or pH 8/30 degrees C completely disintegrate at physiologically related conditions, whereas film deposition at pH 8/25 degrees C ...
