A numerical and experimental study on convection heat transfer in a trapezoidal enclosure.
Chaikh Wais, Mohamad Adnan; Ecevit, Ahmet; Department of Physics (1992)
A Numerical approach for the solutions of fluid dynamics problems in the presence of magnetic field
Oğlakkaya, Fatma Sidre; Bozkaya, Canan; Department of Mathematics (2018)
This thesis is conducted to investigate numerically the two-dimensional steady or unsteady, laminar flow of viscous, incompressible and electrically conducting fluids in complex geometries subject to either uniform inclined magnetic field or nodal magnetic sources. Specifically, the hydromagnetic natural/mixed convection of either conventional fluid or water-based nanofluid flow and the heat transfer are considered in irregular enclosures with wavy walls. The equations governing the steady magnetohydrodynam...
A two-dimensional time-dependent Euler solver for moving boundaries in cartesian grids applied to injection driven internal flows
Pekkan, Kerem; Üçer, Ahmet Ş.; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2000)
A Navier-Stokes Solver for Compressible Turbulent Flows on Quadtree and Octree Based Cartesian Grids
Kara, E.; Kutlar, A. İ.; Aksel, M. H.; null, null (Academic World Research, 2019-3-1)
Cartesian grids represent a special extent in unstructured grid literature. They employ chiefly created algorithms to produce automatic meshing while simulating flows around complex geometries without considering shape of the bodies. In this article, firstly, it is intended to produce regionally developed Cartesian meshes for two dimensional and three dimensional, disordered geometries to provide solutions hierarchically. Secondly, accurate results for turbulent flows are developed by finite volume solv...
A novel modeling methodology and performance improvement technique for DMTL phase shifters
İstanbulluoğlu, İpek; Akın, Tayfun; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2006)
This thesis presents distributed MEMS transmission line (DMTL) phase shifters, emphasizing the circuit modeling and design as well as the performance improvement. A novel modeling methodology is introduced for DMTL unit sections, with bridge widths larger than 50 μm. The introduced model is compared with EM simulation results and the CLR modeling results. For structures with bridge widths larger than 50 μm, the introduced model fits the simulation results much better than the CLR model. The simulated struct...
