It is widely believed that the Standard Model (SM) can not be a fundamental theory of the basic interactions. Originated from this fact, many new physics models have been proposed. Among them, the two Higgs doublet model (2HDM), the SM enlarged by adding one extra scalar doublet, is considered as the simplest extension of the SM. In this work, within the framework of the model III version of the 2HDM, the exclusive decay the branching ratio is calculated and discussed in various physical regions determined by model parameters. It is observed that it is possible to reach present experimental upper limits in model Finally, the avor changing top quark decay

TAU-MU-E NONUNIVERSALITY AS INDICATION OF ORDINARY AND EXOTIC LEPTON MIXING
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; YILMAZ, O (1992-09-17)
Possible deviations from the tau-mu-e universality are discussed in the framework of the standard model with four families and in that of the E6 model. It is shown that the experimental study of spin asymmetry in the process e+e- --> Z --> tau+tau- will give direct information on the real tau-nonuniversality due to the mixing of the usual and exotic fermions.
Values, practices, and philosophy of science
Keler, Raşit Hasan; Grünberg, David; Department of Philosophy (2016)
The main aim of philosophy of science is to clarify the nature of science. I believe that this can only be achieved by specifying the values and practices of particular scientific theories and research traditions. Therefore this text is about practices of sciences and in particular, about what scientists and scientific communities prefer about and choose the theories, research programs, models, tools, data, hypothesis, theoretical frameworks, and all kinds of things they employ. What needs to be done is not...
Feedback Control as a Framework for Understanding Tradeoffs in Biology
Cowan, Noah J.; Ankaralı, Mustafa Mert; Dyhr, Jonathan P.; Madhav, Manu S.; Roth, Eatai; Sefati, Shahin; Sponberg, Simon; Stamper, Sarah A.; Fortune, Eric S.; Daniel, Thomas L. (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2014-07-01)
Control theory arose from a need to control synthetic systems. From regulating steam engines to tuning radios to devices capable of autonomous movement, it provided a formal mathematical basis for understanding the role of feedback in the stability (or change) of dynamical systems. It provides a framework for understanding any system with regulation via feedback, including biological ones such as regulatory gene networks, cellular metabolic systems, sensorimotor dynamics of moving animals, and even ecologic...
Flavor changing t -> cl(1)(-)l(2)(+) decay in the general two Higgs doublet model
Iltan, EO; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2003-01-01)
We study the flavor changing t-->cl(1)(-)l(2)(+) decay in the framework of the general two Higgs doublet model, the so-called model III. We predict the branching ratio for l(1)=tau, l(2)=mu at the order of magnitude of BRsimilar to10(-8).
CORE POLARIZATION EFFECTS ON THE MAGNETIC FORM-FACTORS OF N-15 AND O-17
GOKALP, A; YILMAZ, O (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1992-05-01)
The effects of the first- and the second-order core polarization on the elastic magnetic form factors of N-15 and O-17 are investigated using the perturbation theory based on the harmonic-oscillator shell model, in which for the matrix elements of the two-nucleon interaction the Sussex matrix elements are employed. The core polarization reduces the single-particle value of M3 part of the form factor of O-17, however the reduction of the form factor of N-15 does not lead to an improved agreement with experim...
