Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(2,4,6-tribromophenoxo)-bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate solvent-electrolyte couple under air or nitrogen at room temperature by constant potential electrolysis. Polymerization conditions were based on the peak potentials measured by cyclic voltammetry. The structural analyses of the polymers were done by H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, and FTIR spectral analyses along with molecular weight measurements by cryoscopy. The poly(dibromo phenylene oxide)s obtained only at oxidation potentials in either atmosphere were found to be highly linear, indicating mainly 1,4-catenation was taking place.

POLYMERIZATION OF BIS(2-BROMO-4,6-DICHLOROPHENOXO)BIS(PYRIDINE) COPPER (II) COMPLEX IN DMF BY ELECTROINITIATION
KISAKUREK, D; SEN, S; ARAS, L; TURKER, L; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 1991-01-01)
Polymerization of bis(2-bromo-4,6-dichlorophenoxo)bis(pyridine) copper (II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide by electrooxidation. A cyclic voltammogram (CV) of the complex was obtained in dimethylformamide in advance. Constant potential yielded polymers in anode compartment only under nitrogen atmosphere and air. In the final polymer product, incorporation of neither the ligand nor the copper was observed and the post-polymerization proceeded in the absence of current. The structural analyses o...
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(DICHLOROPHENYLENE OXIDE)S BASED ON THE ELECTROOXIDATION OF BIS(2,4,6-TRICHLOROPHENOXO)BIS(PYRIDINE)COPPER(II) COMPLEX
SEN, S; KISAKUREK, D (Elsevier BV, 1993-01-01)
Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenoxo)bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide by constant potential electrolysis under air and N2. The polymers obtained at several potentials were characterized by H-1 n.m.r., C-13 n.m.r., FTi.r. and d.s.c., and were found to be branched. The kinetics of the polymerization were followed by in situ cyclic voltammetry measurements at 13.5 and 20-degrees-C during electrolysis. As found for the thermal polymerization of this comp...
POLYMERIZATION OF BIS(TRICHLOROPHENOXO) ETHYLENEDIAMINE COPPER (II) COMPLEX BY ELECTRO-OXIDATION
Yiğit, S.; Kısakürek, D.; Türker, L; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Akbulut, Ural (Elsevier BV, 1989-02-01)
Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(trichlorophenoxo) ethylenediamine copper (II) complex was carried out in dimethyl-formamide at various anodic peak potentials of the complex. The oxidation and reduction peak potentials were determined by cyclic voltammetry. These potentials were measured in tetrabutylammonium fluoroborate-dimethylformamide supporting electrolyte-solvent couple at room temperature. Polymerization reactions were carried out under air and nitrogen atmospheres using a constant potential a...
Immobilization of Invertase in Copolymer of 2,5-Di(thiophen-2-yl)-1-p-Tolyl-1H-Pyrrole with Pyrrole
Celebi, Selin; Ibibikcan, Esin; Kayahan, Senem; Yigitsoy, Basak; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 2009-01-01)
Immobilization of invertase in conducting copolymer matrix of 2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1-p-tolyl-1H-pyrrole with pyrrole (poly(DDTP-co-Py)) was achieved via electrochemical polymerization. Kinetic parameters, Michaelis-Menten constant, Km and the maximum reaction rate, Vmax were investigated. Operational stability and temperature optimization of the enzyme electrodes were also examined. Immobilized invertase reveals maximum activity at 50 degrees C and; pH 8 and pH 4 for two copolymer matrices. Although the sa...
Complex-radical terpolymerization of glycidyl(methyl) methacrylates, styrene, and maleic anhydride
Rzaev, ZMO (Wiley, 1999-04-15)
The ternary copolymerizations of glycidlyl(methyl) methacrylates (GMA and MMA), styrene (St), and maleic anhydride (MA), considered as acceptor(A(1))donor-acceptor(A(2)) systems, were carried out in methyl ethyl ketone in the presence of benzoyl peroxide as initiator at 50-80 degrees C. Constants of copolymerization, complex formation, and some kinetic parameters for the monomer systems studied were determined by the methods of Hanna-Ashbaugh, Kelen-Tudos, and Seiner-Litt, as well as by dilatometry, respect...
