Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenoxo)bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide by constant potential electrolysis under air and N2. The polymers obtained at several potentials were characterized by H-1 n.m.r., C-13 n.m.r., FTi.r. and d.s.c., and were found to be branched. The kinetics of the polymerization were followed by in situ cyclic voltammetry measurements at 13.5 and 20-degrees-C during electrolysis. As found for the thermal polymerization of this complex, electroinitiation begins after 50 min at 13.5-degrees-C, whereas the induction period is negligible for electrolysis at 20-degrees-C.

POLYMERIZATION OF BIS(2-BROMO-4,6-DICHLOROPHENOXO)BIS(PYRIDINE) COPPER (II) COMPLEX IN DMF BY ELECTROINITIATION
KISAKUREK, D; SEN, S; ARAS, L; TURKER, L; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 1991-01-01)
Polymerization of bis(2-bromo-4,6-dichlorophenoxo)bis(pyridine) copper (II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide by electrooxidation. A cyclic voltammogram (CV) of the complex was obtained in dimethylformamide in advance. Constant potential yielded polymers in anode compartment only under nitrogen atmosphere and air. In the final polymer product, incorporation of neither the ligand nor the copper was observed and the post-polymerization proceeded in the absence of current. The structural analyses o...
Synthesis and electropolymerization of 5,12-dihydrothieno[3 ',4 ': 2,3][1,4]dioxocino[6,7-b]-quinoxaline and its electrochromic properties
Ak, Mine Sulak; Ak, Metin; Guellue, Mustafa; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2007-08-01)
Synthesis of a new thiophene-based monomer; 5,12-dihydrothieno[3',4':2,3][1,4]dioxocino[6,7-b]quinoxaline (DDQ), was realized. The chemical structure of the monomer was characterized by H-1 NMR, FTIR and mass spectroscopy techniques. Electrochemical polymerization of DDQ and characterization of the resulting polymer [P(DDQ)] was performed. Moreover, the spectroelectrochemical and electrochromic properties of the polymer film were investigated. P(DDQ) has a low oxidation potential (0.9 V) and low band gap (1...
POLYMERIZATION OF BIS(PYRIDINE)BIS-(2,4,6-TRIBROMOPHENOXO)COPPER(II) COMPLEX (PY2CU(TBRP)2) BY ELECTROOXIDATION AND STRUCTURAL CHARACTERIZATION BY H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, AND FTIR SPECTROSCOPIES
SEN, S; KISAKUREK, D; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 1993-01-01)
Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(2,4,6-tribromophenoxo)-bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate solvent-electrolyte couple under air or nitrogen at room temperature by constant potential electrolysis. Polymerization conditions were based on the peak potentials measured by cyclic voltammetry. The structural analyses of the polymers were done by H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, and FTIR spectral analyses along with molecular weight measurements by cryosco...
Synthesis and Characterization of Conducting Copolymers of Bisphenol A-Diglycidyl Ether with Thiophene Side-Groups and Pyrrole
Sahmetlioglu, Ertugrul; Varol, Ramazan; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Yuruk, Huseyin (Informa UK Limited, 2009-01-01)
Copolymers of bisphenol A-diglycidyl ether with thiophene side-groups and pyrrole were synthesized by electrochemical polymerization. Bisphenol A-diglycidyl ether with thiophene side-groups (DGEBATh) was obtained from the reaction between bisphenol A-diglycidyl ether (DGEBA) and thiophene-3-acetic acid. The syntheses of copolymers of DGEBATh and pyrrole were achieved electrochemically using three different supporting electrolytes, p-toluene sulfonic acid (PTSA), sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and tetrabutylam...
Synthesis and characterization of boron-doped Bi2O3-La2O3 fiber derived nanocomposite precursor
Durmusoglu, Senol; Uslu, Ibrahim; TUNÇ, TUNCAY; Keskin, Selda; Aytimur, Arda; Akdemir, Ahmet (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2011-11-01)
Boron doped poly(vinyl) alcohol/ bismuth - lanthanum acetate (PVA/Bi-La) nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning using PVA as a precursor. The effect of boron doping was investigated in terms of solution properties, morphological changes and thermal characteristics. The fibers were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM and BET. The addition of boron did not only increase the thermal stability of the fibers, but also their diameters, which yielded stronger fibers. XRD analyses showed that boron doping increas...
