Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(trichlorophenoxo) ethylenediamine copper (II) complex was carried out in dimethyl-formamide at various anodic peak potentials of the complex. The oxidation and reduction peak potentials were determined by cyclic voltammetry. These potentials were measured in tetrabutylammonium fluoroborate-dimethylformamide supporting electrolyte-solvent couple at room temperature. Polymerization reactions were carried out under air and nitrogen atmospheres using a constant potential approach at room temperature. The kinetics of the polymerization were followed by cyclic voltammetry. The polymers obtained were characterized by 1H n.m.r.,13C n.m.r. and FTi.r. spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Vapour pressure (isopiestic) was used for the molecular weight determinations. The polymers obtained at different potentials were found to be similar in structure.

ELECTROINITIATED POLYMERIZATION OF BIS(TRICHLOROPHENOXO)-TETRAMETHYLETHYLENE DIAMINE COPPER(II)
SACAK, M; Akbulut, Ural; KISAKUREK, D; TURKER, L; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Wiley, 1989-04-01)
Electroninitiated polymerization of bis(trichlorophenoxo)‐N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylethylene diamine copper(II) was achieved in acetonitrile at various peak potentials of the monomer. A constant potential approach was selected in polymerization reactions. Electrolyses were carried out under air, nitrogen, and oxygen atmospheres. Structural analyses of the polymers were done by 1H‐NMR and 13C‐NMR FT–IR spectroscopy. Molecular weights of the polymers were determined by vapor pressure (isopiestic) method.
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(DICHLOROPHENYLENE OXIDE)S THROUGH SOLID-STATE THERMAL-DECOMPOSITION OF BIS(PYRIDINE)BIS(TRICHLOROPHENOXO)COPPER(II) COMPLEXES
BASTURKMEN, M; KISAKUREK, D (Elsevier BV, 1993-01-01)
Thermal polymerization of bis(pyridine)bis(trichlorophenoxo)copper(II) was achieved in the solid state for the first time. The time and temperature effect on polymer molecular weight, percentage yield and the structure of polymer was first studied, at constant temperature and then for constant decomposition time. Polymers were characterized by i.r., H-1 n.m.r. and C-13 n.m.r. The molecular weights of the polymers were obtained by viscometric measurements at 30-degrees-C in toluene and glass transition tempe...
Synthesis and characterization of poly(dihalophenylene oxides) by thermal decomposition of copper complexes with tetramethylethylenediamine and ethylenediamine ligands
Ünal, H. Ibrahim; Kısakürek, Duygu; Şanlı, Oya (Elsevier BV, 1989-2)
Thermal polymerization of bis(trihalophenoxo)-N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine copper(ii) and bis(trihalophenoxo)ethylenediamine copper(ii) was achieved in toluene at 70°C. The dependences of intrinsic viscosity and the percentage yield of the polymers on a sequence of increasing decomposition times of copper complexes were investigated. Structural analyses of the polymers were carried out using mainly1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. 1,4-Catenation was hi...
POLYMERIZATION OF BIS(2-BROMO-4,6-DICHLOROPHENOXO)BIS(PYRIDINE) COPPER (II) COMPLEX IN DMF BY ELECTROINITIATION
KISAKUREK, D; SEN, S; ARAS, L; TURKER, L; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 1991-01-01)
Polymerization of bis(2-bromo-4,6-dichlorophenoxo)bis(pyridine) copper (II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide by electrooxidation. A cyclic voltammogram (CV) of the complex was obtained in dimethylformamide in advance. Constant potential yielded polymers in anode compartment only under nitrogen atmosphere and air. In the final polymer product, incorporation of neither the ligand nor the copper was observed and the post-polymerization proceeded in the absence of current. The structural analyses o...
POLYMERIZATION OF BIS(PYRIDINE)BIS-(2,4,6-TRIBROMOPHENOXO)COPPER(II) COMPLEX (PY2CU(TBRP)2) BY ELECTROOXIDATION AND STRUCTURAL CHARACTERIZATION BY H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, AND FTIR SPECTROSCOPIES
SEN, S; KISAKUREK, D; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Informa UK Limited, 1993-01-01)
Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(2,4,6-tribromophenoxo)-bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide-tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate solvent-electrolyte couple under air or nitrogen at room temperature by constant potential electrolysis. Polymerization conditions were based on the peak potentials measured by cyclic voltammetry. The structural analyses of the polymers were done by H-1-NMR, C-13-NMR, and FTIR spectral analyses along with molecular weight measurements by cryosco...
