The crystal structure of the title compound, C2H10N2O2+• 2Cl(-), is built up from one 2-hydroxyethylhydrazinium(2+) cation and two Cl- anions. The molecular structure is stabilized by O-H••• Cl and N-H••• Cl hydrogen bonds. The crystal structure is stabilized by one N-H••• O and three N-H••• Cl interactions, and the three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonds stabilizes the crystal packing. All five hydrazinium H atoms are involved in hydrogen bonds to Cl- anions. The Cl••• H contact distances range from 2.122 (15) to 2.809 (14) &ANGS;.

In the title compound, C16H20Cl2O8, the bicyclic system contains a central non-planar cyclohexane ring which is fused to a cyclobutane moiety. The cyclohexane ring has a chair conformation and the whole system adopts a syn conformation. The structure provides information on the stereochemical course of the chlorination, photo-oxidation and hydroxylation steps of the reaction.
Propynylferrocene and (phenylethynyl)ferrocene
Zora, Metin; Tumay, Tulay Asli; Odabasoglu, Mustafa; Buyukgungor, Orhan (International Union of Crystallography (IUCr), 2006-08-01)
The title compounds, propynylferrocene, [Fe(C5H5)(C8H7)], (I), and (phenylethynyl) ferrocene, [Fe(C5H5)(C13H9)], (II), are stabilized by weak C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions. The C C bond distances in these molecules are in the range 1.182 (3)-1.192 (3) angstrom. In (II), the ferrocenyl and phenyl groups are perpendicular, making an angle of 89.06 (13)degrees, which is a rare occurrence.
A promising enzyme anchoring probe for selective ethanol sensing in beverages
Soylemez, Saniye; Goker, Seza; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2019-07-15)
A newly designed amperometric biosensor for the determination of ethanol through one-step electrochemical coating of (4,7-di(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]selenadiazole-co-1H-pyrrole-3-carboxylic acid) (TBeSe-co-P3CA) on a graphite electrode is presented. It was aimed to propose a newly synthesized copolymer with enhanced biosensing properties as a novel sensor for the quantification of ethanol. The conjugated copolymer (TBeSe-co-P3CA) was prepared through electrochemical polymerization by potential cycling....
Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation of Cytotoxic Activities of Novel Aziridinyl Phosphonic Acid Derivatives
Khan, Rehan; Ulusan, Sinem; Banerjee, Sreeparna; Doğan, Özdemir (Wiley, 2019-11-01)
New aziridine 2-phosphonic acids were prepared by monohydrolysis of the aziridine 2-phosphonates that were obtained by the modified Gabriel-Cromwell reaction of vinyl phosphonate or alpha-tosylvinyl phosphonate with a primary amine or a chiral amine. The cellular cytotoxicity of these compounds was tested against the HCT-116 colorectal cancer cell lines and the CCD-18Co normal colon fibroblast lines using the MTT assay. Three of the synthesized phosphonic acid derivatives 2e (ethyl hydrogen {(2S)-1-[(1S)-1-...
FREE-RADICAL MEDIATED INTERACTION OF ASCORBIC-ACID AND ASCORBATE/CU(II) WITH VIRAL AND PLASMID DNAS
ERDEM, G; ONER, C; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; KISAKUREK, D; OGUS, A (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1994-03-01)
Previous studies indicate that ascorbic acid, when combined with copper or iron cleaves several viral DNAs. In this study, we generated the ascorbate radical anion electrochemically in a simple chemical environment without the participation of a metal ion. This solution possesses viral DNA scission activity. The absence of catalytic metal ions [Fe (III) and Cu(II)] in the incubation medium was evidenced by metal chelating agents such as desferrioxamine and EDTA. The radical quenching at high EDTA concentrat...
