Polimer kompozitlerindeki alev özelliğinin silikon bazlı polimerler kullanılarak geliştirilmesi

Bu proje, preseramik polimerlerin sentezi, karakterizasyonu ve polipropilen ile hazırlanan kompozitlerinin alev geciktirici özelliğinin araştırılması üzerine yapılan çalışmaları içermektedir. Öncelikle, poli(metilsilin), poli(metilsilseskuoksan) ve poli(dimetilsilan) polimerleri sentezlenmiştir. Sentezlenen preseramik polimerler FTIR, 1H-NMR, UV-VIS, DSC, TGA ve SEM analizleri ile karakterize edilmiştir. Karakterizasyon sonuçları bu üç polimerin de başarıyla elde edildiğini göstermektedir. Daha sonra, polipropilen ve bu polimerler ağırlıkça belirli yüzdelerde sinerjist katkılarla birlikte veya haricinde, çift vidalı bir ekstrüderde proses edilmiştir ve enjeksiyonlu kalıplama yöntemi ile kalıplanmıştır. Kompozitler yanma ve mekanik testlerine tabi tutulmuş ve ayrıca TGA, DSC ve SEM analizleri ile karakterize edilmiştir. Sınırlayıcı oksijen endeksi (LOI) verilerine dayanarak en iyi sonuçlar poli(metilsilseskuoksan) ve poli(dimetilsilan) polimerleri ile oluşturulan kompozitlerde elde edilmiştir. Saf polipropilenin 17.5 olan LOI değeri, herhangi bir mekanik özellik kaybına yol açmadan preseramik polimer ve sinerjistlerin eklenmesiyle 22 değerine ulaşmıştır.
