Effects of RTM mold temperature and vacuum on the mechanical properties of epoxy/glass fiber composite plates
Kaynak, Cevdet; Isitman, Nihat Ali (2008-08-01)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of mold temperature, application of vacuum at resin exit ports, and initial resin temperature on the mechanical properties of epoxy matrix woven glass fiber reinforced composite specimens produced by resin transfer molding (RTM). For this purpose, six mold temperatures (25, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 degrees C), two initial resin temperatures (15 and 28 degrees C), and vacuum (0.03 bar) and without vacuum (similar to 1 bar) conditions are utilized. Speci...
Effects of electrolyte pattern on mechanical and electrochemical properties of solid oxide fuel cells
TİMURKUTLUK, BORA; Celik, Selahattin; Toros, Serkan; Timurkutluk, Cigdem; Mat, Mahmut D.; Kaplan, Yuksel (2012-09-01)
In order to enhance the electrochemical performance and reduce the operation temperature of a conventional electrolyte supported solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC), a three layered electrolyte with various geometry is designed and fabricated. Novel three layered electrolytes comprise a dense and thin scandia alumina stabilized zirconia (ScAlSZ) electrolyte layer sandwiched between two hallow ScAlSZ electrolyte layers each having the same thickness as the support but machined into a filter like architecture in the...
Effects of array guided surface waves on radiation characteristics of a finite planar printed dipole array
Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem; Pathak, PH (2004-06-26)
The presence of surface waves different from the conventional grounded dielectric substrate surface wave modes, which can be excited on a finite periodic radiating array of printed dipoles, at frequencies for which the spacing between dipoles is typically less than half a wavelength is studied. The effects of such array guided surface waves on the array radiation characteristics are investigated. Techniques to suppress these surface waves are also discussed.
EFFECTS OF FIELD PLATE ON THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE AND TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION FOR GaN HEMT DEVICES
Kara, Dogacan; Donmezer, Nazli; Canan, Talha Furkan; ŞEN, ÖZLEM; ÖZBAY, Ekmel (2016-07-14)
Field plated GaN high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) are widely preferred amongst other GaN HEMT devices because of their ability to regulate electric field at high power densities. When operated at high power densities, GaN HEMTs suffer significantly from the concentrated heating effects in a small region called hotspot located closer to the drain edge of the gate. Although; the stabilizing effect of field plate on the electrical field distribution in HEMTs is known by researchers, its effect on tem...
