Bu projenin temel amacı amerika kansas bugday fiyatları ile Türkiye polatlı buğday fiyatları arasındaki ilişkileri ekonometrik modellerle analiz etmektir. Kansas buğday fiyatlarının Türkiye buğday fiyatları için önemli bir belirleyici olmasına rağmen 1988-2007 aylık verileri buğday fiyatları arasında doğrusal bir eşbütünleşim olmadığını göstermektedir. Projede bu ilişkinin doğrusal olmayabileceği öne sürülmüş ve yapılan testler ile öyle olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuca dayanarak projede doğrusal olmayan eşbütünleşim modelleri kullanılarak iki değişken arasındaki ilişki irdelenecektir. Böylece iki değişkenin hangi durumlarda birbirinden ayrıştığı ve denge noktasına yakınsamanın nasıl bir asimetrik yapıya sahip olduğu ortaya çıkarılacaktır.
