A Note: An Input-Output Analysis of the Turkish Construction Sector
Bon, Ranko; Birgönül, Mustafa Talat; Dikmen Toker, İrem (1999-01-01)
Using the four input-output tables compiled in Turkey to date, the aim of this paper is to examine the construction sector's role in the Turkish economy and analyse its relationships with the other sectors of the national economy. Analysis results show that the share of construction in Gross National Product (GNP) and National Income (NI) tend to increase whereas the GNP share of manufacturing is relatively stable and that of services tend to increase after an abrupt decrease in 1985; backward linkage indic...
Resource assessment in Aydin-Pamukören geothermal field
Atmaca, İlker; Bilgin, Hasan Aydın; Department of Mining Engineering (2010)
Reasons like increases in the price and demand of energy in the last years, growing interest and support in the renewable energy resources, development of social environmental consciousness, interest in using domestic resources, having legal regulations has promoted the interest in the electricity production from geothermal energy. For the effective and productive use of existing resources, important data of geothermal regions are obtained with well tests. Well tests are the studies which starts while the w...
National patterns of research output and priorities in renewable energy
Uzun, A (2002-01-01)
This paper attempts to compare the research Output and priorities of 25 major Countries in renewable energy research. The main objective is to assess the research priorities of the major countries in frontier areas subjects of renewable energy using some bibliometric measures based on renewable energy literature. Subjects of high activity and Subjects of low activity are identified for two time periods ( 1996-1997 and 1998 1999). Our findings, show that the output of publications including articles. reviews...
Leading indicators of currency crises: the case of Turkey
Ant, Müge; Ekinci, Nazım; Department of Economics (2002)
This thesis examines the 1994 and 2001 currency crises in Turkey from the perspective of the leading indicators of currency crises. By applying a methodology proposed by Kaminsky, Lizondo and Reinhart in 1998, the study examines the behaviour of the leading indicators in Turkey in the 1990s and determines whether fundamentals were deteriorated on the eve of the crises. The thesis also attempts to identify the variables that are most useful in predicting possible currency crises in Turkey.
Comparison of EKF, EKF2 and UKF in a loosely coupled INS/GPS integration
Jane, Hande; Baykal, Buyurman; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2018)
Developing effective navigation solutions in land, sea, air, and space travels is an ever increasing necessity maintaining its validity. Nowadays, although a navigation aid called satellite based Global Positioning System (GPS) is used to develop a navigation solution, standalone GPS cannot achieve the desired accuracy in some applications. For this reason, GPS measurements are integrated with the Inertial Navigation System (INS) to develop an enhanced accurate integrated navigation solution. Extended Kalma...
