Optimum Nyquist filters with controlled time and frequency characteristics
Tuncer, Temel Engin (Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), 2002-10-10)
A design procedure is presented for pulse shaping filters based on the eigenfilter method. This method presents great flexibility for the control of the tail decay and stopband attenuation of the pulse shaping filters. A variety of optimum filters can be designed which are better than raised cosine filters both in time and frequency.
Exploitation of Linear Frequency Modulated Continuous Waveform (LFMCW) for Frequency Diverse Arrays
Eker, T.; Demir, Şimşek; Hizal, A. (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2013-07-01)
Frequency diverse arrays (FDA) are recently introduced. Not only the phased array and frequency scanning arrays, but also FDA provides electronic beam scanning ability. Moreover, electronic beam scanning is provided without the use of phase shifters or vector modulators. Nevertheless, reported studies on this concept do not provide practically implementable results. In this paper, fundamental expressions of the FDA operation and its typical implementation schemes are reviewed, and an ultimately useful schem...
Hybrid connection of RF MEMS and SMT components in an impedance tuner
Unlu, Mehmet; Topalli, Kagan; Atasoy, Halil Ibrahim; Demir, Şimşek; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem; Akın, Tayfun (Elsevier BV, 2010-01-01)
This paper presents a systematic construction of a model for a hybrid connected RF MEMS and SMT components in a reconfigurable impedance tuner. The double stub hybrid impedance tuner which employs a high number of MEMS switches is selected to demonstrate the feasibility of the connections. In the hybrid tuner, MEMS switches are actuated with DC bias signals, where SMT resistors de-couple RF from the DC lines. The hybrid tuner is realized in two steps, where the MEMS impedance tuner is fabricated on a glass ...
Spherical wave expansion of the time-domain free-space Dyadic Green's function
Azizoglu, SA; Koç, Seyit Sencer; Buyukdura, OM (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2004-03-01)
The importance of expanding Green's functions, particularly free-space Green's functions in terms of orthogonal wave functions is practically self-evident when frequency domain scattering problems are of interest. With the relatively recent and widespread interest in time-domain scattering problems, similar expansions of Green's functions are expected to be useful in the time-domain. In this paper, an expression, expanded in terms of orthogonal spherical vector wave functions, for the time-domain free-space...
