Research on the use of the combined steam-CO2 injection process was conducted in linear and three-dimensional unscaled laboratory models to determine the performance of limestone reservoirs of the Turkish oil fields, Garzan, Bati Raman and Camurlu. This study was carried out to evaluate the benefits Of CO2 addition to steam on the recovery of 24-degrees-API, 12-degrees-API and 10.6-degrees-API gravity oils.

TGA and DSC investigation of different clay mineral effects on the combustion behavior and kinetics of crude oil from Kazan region, Russia
Kök, Mustafa Verşan; Nurgaliev, Danis K. (2021-05-01)
In this research, the effect of different clay minerals (bentonite, illite and kaolinite) on the combustion behavior and kinetics of crude oils from Kazan region (Russia) was studied using thermogravimetry (TGA) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The ramped temperature experiments were performed at constant heating rates (10, 20 and 30 degrees C/min) under air atmosphere. In both TGA and DSC experiments, two reaction zones were identified known as low temperature oxidation (LTO) and high temperatu...
Cadmium removal using clinoptilolite : influence of conditioning and regeneration
Gedik, Kadir; İmamoğlu, İpek; Department of Environmental Engineering (2006)
Clinoptilolite samples obtained from two deposits in Turkey were tested for their potential in removing cadmium from aqueous solutions. Preliminary experiments in batch mode revealed inferior cadmium uptake at low pH. Particle size was found to have no effect on cadmium removal efficiency suggesting the use of exchangeable cations found in the internal/available sites. Increasing temperature yielded positive, whereas prewashing had no effect on cadmium removal using both clinoptilolite samples. The Langmuir...
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sea sediments of the Turkish Mediterranean coast, composition and sources
Tuncel, Süleyman Gürdal (2015-03-01)
The concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were determined in 25 surface sediment samples from five sites located at Oludeniz Lagoon of the Turkish Mediterranean coast. The total concentration of the PAHs (1.85 +/- 1.39 mg/kg) was lower than the sediments from highly urbanized areas, while it was comparable with the sediments from similar locations. Acenaphthene and chrysene were dominant ones with the concentrations of 0.620 and 0.515 mg/kg, respectively. The isomeric ratios indicated th...
LEACHING BY FERRIC SULFATE OF RAW AND CONCENTRATED COPPER-ZINC COMPLEX SULFIDE ORES
BUTTINELLI, D; LAVECCHIA, R; POCHETTI, F; Geveci, Ahmet; GURESIN, N; Topkaya, Yavuz Ali (1992-10-01)
A composite mixture of three typical Cu/Zn complex ores, namely black-, yellow- and altered-ore, from Cayeli deposit in Turkey, was used for leaching experiments under atmospheric pressure in ferric sulphate solutions, In order to study the reaction kinetics of the copper and zinc dissolution in the temperature range from 50 to 80-degrees-C; also in the presence of a solvent for elemental sulphur, such as CCl4.
Reservoir heterogeneity of Ordovician sandstone reservoir (Bedinan Formation, SE Turkey): Diagenetic and sedimentological approachs
Yildiz, Gokay; Yılmaz, İsmail Ömer (Elsevier BV, 2020-08-01)
The sandstone-bearing reservoir levels (Bedinan Formation) in the Diyarbakir Basin, SE Turkey show strong heterogeneity in porosity, permeability and capillary pressure, which influences oil production rates of the studied 6 wells and beclouds the prediction of hydrocarbon reserves. Therefore, comprehensive understanding of the sandstone reservoir characteristics has been necessitated to optimize its ultimate hydrocarbon recovery, maximize its lifetime and to make more accurate performance predictions for t...
