Providing cheap land for social housing: breaching the state aid regulations of the single European Market?, Regional Studies. European Union member states are not permitted to provide aid that will distort competition by favouring certain undertakings or the production of certain goods which may then undermine trading in the European market. This prohibition also affects government authorities that are willing to provide cheap land for social and affordable housing. This paper reviews the ways in which land is provided for social housing in the Netherlands and explores possibilities for reshaping current practices to make them compatible with the regime of the Single European Market.

Measurement of pseudorapidity distributions of charged particles in proton-proton collisions at root s=8 TeV by the CMS and TOTEM experiments
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-10-01)
Pseudorapidity (eta) distributions of charged particles produced in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV are measured in the ranges vertical bar eta vertical bar < 2.2 and 5.3 < vertical bar eta vertical bar < 6.4 covered by the CMS and TOTEM detectors, respectively. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of L = 45 mu b(-1). Measurements are presented for three event categories. The most inclusive category is sensitive to 91-96 % of the total inelastic proton-proton cross se...
[MU-BIS(DIALKYLPHOSPHINO)ALKANE]-BIS[PENTACARBONYLMETAL(0)] COMPLEXES OF THE GROUP-6B ELEMENTS - SYNTHESIS AND SPECTROSCOPIC STUDY
OZER, Z; Özkar, Saim; PAMUK, HO (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 1993-01-01)
[mu-Bis(dialkylphosphino)alkane]-bis[pentacarbonylmetal(0)] complexes (CO)5MR2P(CH2)nPR2M(CO)5, (M: Cr, Mo, W; n: 1, 2, 3; R: CH3, C2H5, C6H5) were synthesized from the reaction of M(CO)5(CH3CN) with the appropriate ligand and characterized by means of IR and NMR (H-1, C-13, P-31) spectroscopy. Spectral data indicate that the complexes contain two identical M(CO)5 moieties linked to each other by the R2P(CH2)nPR2 ligand. Each metal atom has a pseudo-octahedral arrangement of the five CO ligands and one phos...
Modeling dissolved oxygen dynamics and hypoxia
Peña, M. A.; Katsev, S.; Oguz, T.; Gilbert, D. (Copernicus GmbH, 2010-3-9)
Abstract. Hypoxia conditions are increasing throughout the world, influencing biogeochemical cycles of elements and marine life. Hypoxia results from complex interactions between physical and biogeochemical processes, which can not be understood by observations alone. Models are invaluable tools at studying system dynamics, generalizing discrete observations and predicting future states. They are also useful as management tools for evaluating site-specific responses to management scenarios. Here we ...

Res. 19(4):871-877. 2005.-The purpose of this study was to assess the reliability and validity of the modified Conconi test on Concept II rowing ergometers. Twenty-eight oarsmen conducted 3 performance tests on separate days. Reliability was assessed using the break point in heart rate (HR) linearity called the Conconi test (CT) and Conconi retest (CRT)...
