Boron doped poly(vinyl) alcohol/ bismuth - lanthanum acetate (PVA/Bi-La) nanofibers were prepared by electrospinning using PVA as a precursor. The effect of boron doping was investigated in terms of solution properties, morphological changes and thermal characteristics. The fibers were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, SEM and BET. The addition of boron did not only increase the thermal stability of the fibers, but also their diameters, which yielded stronger fibers. XRD analyses showed that boron doping increased the peak intensities and indicated that the boron doping enhanced the crystallite size. Moreover, no shifts were noticed in diffraction angles for boron doped and undoped samples. Therefore, boron doping did not significantly alter the lattice spacing. The SEM micrograph of the fibers showed that the addition of boron resulted in the formation of cross linked bright surfaced fibers. Also, grain diameters of boron doped and undoped nanocrystalline sintered powders were measured as 170 nm and 120 nm respectively. The BET results show that boron undoped and doped Bi2O3-La2O3 nanocrystalline powder ceramic structures sintered at 800 A degrees C have surface areas of 20.44 m(2)/g and 12.93 m(2)/g, respectively.

Preparation of Gadolina Stabilized Bismuth Oxide Doped with Boron via Electrospinning Technique
TUNÇ, TUNCAY; Uslu, Ibrahim; Durmusoglu, Senol; Keskin, Selda; Aytimur, Arda; Akdemir, Ahmet (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2012-01-01)
In this study, boron doped and undoped poly (vinyl) alcohol/bismuth-gadolina acetate (PVA/Bi-Gd) nanofibers were prepared using electrospinning technique then calcinated at 800 degrees C for 2 h. The originality of this study is the addition of boron to metal acetates. The effects of boron doping were investigated in terms of solution properties, morphological changes and thermal characteristics. The characteristics of the fibers were investigated with FT-IR, XRD, SEM and BET. The addition of boron did not ...
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(DICHLOROPHENYLENE OXIDE)S THROUGH SOLID-STATE THERMAL-DECOMPOSITION OF BIS(PYRIDINE)BIS(TRICHLOROPHENOXO)COPPER(II) COMPLEXES
BASTURKMEN, M; KISAKUREK, D (Elsevier BV, 1993-01-01)
Thermal polymerization of bis(pyridine)bis(trichlorophenoxo)copper(II) was achieved in the solid state for the first time. The time and temperature effect on polymer molecular weight, percentage yield and the structure of polymer was first studied, at constant temperature and then for constant decomposition time. Polymers were characterized by i.r., H-1 n.m.r. and C-13 n.m.r. The molecular weights of the polymers were obtained by viscometric measurements at 30-degrees-C in toluene and glass transition tempe...
SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(DICHLOROPHENYLENE OXIDE)S BASED ON THE ELECTROOXIDATION OF BIS(2,4,6-TRICHLOROPHENOXO)BIS(PYRIDINE)COPPER(II) COMPLEX
SEN, S; KISAKUREK, D (Elsevier BV, 1993-01-01)
Electroinitiated polymerization of bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenoxo)bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex was achieved in dimethylformamide by constant potential electrolysis under air and N2. The polymers obtained at several potentials were characterized by H-1 n.m.r., C-13 n.m.r., FTi.r. and d.s.c., and were found to be branched. The kinetics of the polymerization were followed by in situ cyclic voltammetry measurements at 13.5 and 20-degrees-C during electrolysis. As found for the thermal polymerization of this comp...
Synthesis, Characterization and Optoelectrochemical Properties of Poly(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1-(4-(thiophen-3-yl)phenyl)-1H-pyrrole-co-EDOT)
Turac, Ersen; Sahmetlioglu, Ertugrul; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Yuruk, Huseyin (Informa UK Limited, 2010-01-01)
A new polythiophene derivative was synthesized by electrochemical oxidative polymerization of 2,5-di( thiophen-2-yl)-1-(4-(thiophen-3-yl) phenyl)-1H-pyrrole (TTPP). The structure of the monomer was evaluated by H-1-NMR and FT-IR. The polymer (P(TTPP)) and its co-polymer with 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (P(TTPP-co-EDOT)) were synthesized via potentiostatic electrochemical polymerization. The resulting polymers were characterized by cyclic voltammetry (CV), FT-IR, SEM and UV-Vis spectroscopy, and conductivity ...
Synthesis and electrochemical characterization of fluorene and benzimidazole containing novel conjugated polymers: Effect of alkyl chain length on electrochemical properties
Namal, Imge; Ozelcaglayan, Ali Can; Udum, Yasemin Arslan; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2013-10-01)
The synthesis and characterization of two donor acceptor type conjugated polymers were investigated. Electrochemical properties were examined by cyclic voltammetry, spectroelectrochemistry and kinetic studies. The increase in the alkyl chain length attached to the fluorene unit was investigated in terms of electrochemical properties. The synthesis was carried out via Stille coupling of 4,7-dibromo-4'-(tert-butyl)spiro[benzo[d]imidazole-2,1' cyclohexane] and 2,5-bis(tributylstannyl)thiophene with 9,9-dihexyl...
