Ba1-xSrxTiO3 films prepared by chemical solution deposition

2004-01-01
The present work describes the preparation and the physical properties of Ba1-xSrxTiO3 (x is between 0.2 and 0.4) films by chemical solution deposition. High-quality films with uniform composition and thickness were successfully produced by spin-coating. The layers have been deposited on top of Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates using barium and strontium acetates, dissolved in acetic acid, mixed up with titanium tetra-isopropoxide in isopropanol. The amounts of each constituent have been carefully adjusted to obtain stable and homogeneous sols. Different thermal treatments of the deposited layers have been carried out. They consist of a pre-firing cycle (330°C or 550°C) followed by annealing at 800°C for 3 hours. The heat treatment conditions for the decomposition of residual organics in the films were determined on the basis of thermal analyses of the bulk gels. XRD analyses showed that films of 1-2.5 (μm thickness were polycrystalline with no preferred crystallographic orientation. The metal-BST-metal structure of the films displayed good dielectric properties. The capacitance-frequency curve reveals that the dielectric constant can reach a value of 900 at 1 kHz.

Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3 films on stainless steel by chemical solution deposition
Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit (2004-01-01)
The present work describes the preparation of Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3 thin films by chemical solution deposition. Lead acetate, zirconium propoxide and titanium isopropoxide were used as starting materials. Substrates used were stainless steel foils of 0.025 mm, thick (AISI 304). The preparation of stock solution and heat treatment procedure was described. Crack-free films were obtained by multilayer coating in which the viscosity of the solution was adjusted such that each layer was approximately 0.2 mum thick...

Device behavior of an In/p-Ag(Ga,In)Te-2/n-Si/Ag heterojunction diode

In this work, p-(Ag-Ga-In-Te) polycrystalline thin films were deposited on soda-lime glass and n-type Si substrates by e-beam evaporation of AgGa0.5In0.5Te2 crystalline powder and the thermal evaporation of Ag powder, sequentially in the same chamber. The carrier concentration and mobility of the Ag-Ga-In-Te (AGIT) film were determined as 5.82 x 10(15) cm(-3) and 13.81 cm(2)/(V s) as a result of Hall Effect measurement. The optical analysis indicated that the band gap values of the samples were around 1.58 ...
Preparation of BTS-BCT thin films by chemical solution deposition and their characterization /
Akbay, Berk; Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2015)
In the presented thesis, lead-free Ba(Ti0.88Sn0.12)O3-0.3(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 (BTS-BCT) thin films were deposited on (111)-Pt/TiO2/SiO2/(100)-Si substrates using chemical solution deposition method and then the effect of process parameters were investigated to obtain optimum parameters of these lead-free thin films. The phase was selected near to the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) to increase the number of polarization directions where rhombohedral and tetragonal phases exist together. In this study, the eff...
