Pb(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O3 films on stainless steel by chemical solution deposition

2004-01-01
The present work describes the preparation of Pb(Zr0.52Ti 0.48)O3 thin films by chemical solution deposition. Lead acetate, zirconium propoxide and titanium isopropoxide were used as starting materials. Substrates used were stainless steel foils of 0.025 mm thick (AISI 304). The preparation of stock solution and heat treatment procedure was described. Crack-free films were obtained by multilayer coating in which the viscosity of the solution was adjusted such that each layer was approximately 0.2 μm thick. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigations of the PZT thin films relative to the growth conditions were presented. Optimum heat treatment conditions were determined as 600°C and 3 hours to obtain high crystallinity and chemical homogeneity.

Ba1-xSrxTiO3 films prepared by chemical solution deposition
Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit; Emre, MB; Demirbas, MV (2004-01-01)
The present work describes the preparation and the physical properties of Ba1-xSrxTiO3 (x is between 0.2 and 0.4) films by chemical solution deposition. High-quality films with uniform composition and thickness were successfully produced by spin-coating. The layers have been deposited on top of Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrates using barium and strontium acetates, dissolved in acetic acid, mixed up with titanium tetra-isopropoxide in isopropanol. The amounts of each constituent have been carefully adjusted to obtain...

Sol-Gel processing of organically modified ITO thin films and characterization of their optoelectronic and microstructural properties
Kesim, Mehmet Tümerkan; Durucan, Caner; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2012)
Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films were formed on glass substrates by sol-gel method. Coating sols were prepared using indium chloride tetrahydrate (InCl3•4H2O) and tin-chloride pentahydrate (SnCl4•5H2O) stabilized in organic solvents (acetylacetone and ethanol). First attempt was to synthesize ITO thin films using standard/unmodified coating sols. The effect of calcination treatment in air (300 – 600 °C) and number of coating layer(s) (1, 4, 7 or 10) on optoelectronic properties (electrical conductivity and...
AMORPHOUS-TO-CRYSTALLINE TRANSITION OF SELENIUM THIN-FILMS DEPOSITED ONTO ALUMINUM SUBSTRATES
Özenbaş, Ahmet Macit (Elsevier BV, 1990-01-01)
The crystallization of amorphous selenium (a-Se) films prepared by vacuum deposition at < 10−5torr onto aluminum substrates at 20°C was examined. The amorphous-to-crystalline transition was obtained by annealing the films between 70–85°C. The crystalline structures resulting from annealing at different temperatures have been identified by SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy). X-ray and TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) studies revealed that these crystals were of hexagonal structure. The thicknesses of t...
