The thermoluminescent (TL) properties such as glow curve structure, relative thermoluminescence sensitivity, dose response linearity of lithium fluoride thermoluminescent dosimeters (LiF)-Li-6: Ti, Mg (TLD-600) and (7) LiF: Ti, Mg (TLD-700) are investigated after irradiation Cf-252 neutron+gamma and Sr-90-Y-90 beta sources at room temperature and then the obtained results are compared. The kinetic parameters, namely the order of kinetics b, activation energy E-a a and the frequency factor s, are calculated using the computerized glow curve deconvolution (CGCD) program. The effect of heating rate on the glow curves of dosimeters is also investigated. The maximum TL peak intensities and the total area under the glow curves decrease with the increasing heating rate. There is no agreement with the kinetic parameters calculated by the CGCD program for both radiation sources.

Thermoluminescence properties of Al doped ZnO nanoparticles
IŞIK, MEHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Elsevier BV, 2018-08-15)
ZnO nanoparticles doped with aluminum (AZO nanoparticles) were investigated using low temperature thermoluminescence (TL) and structural characterization experiments. TL experiments were performed on AZO nanoparticles in the temperature range of 10-300 K. TL curve presented one intensive peak around 123 K and two overlapped peaks to intensive peak around 85 and 150 K for heating rate of 0.1 K/s. Curve fitting and initial rise methods were used to find the activation energies of associated trapping centers. ...
Sorption of radioactive cesium and barium ions onto solid humic acid
Celebi, O.; Kilikli, A.; ERTEN, HASAN NİYAZİ (Elsevier BV, 2009-09-15)
In this study, the sorption behavior of two important fission product radionuclides ((137)Cs and (140)Ba) onto sodium form of insolubilized humic acid (INaA) were investigated as a function of time, cation concentration and temperature, utilizing the radiotracer method. The sorption processes are well described by both Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich type isotherms. Thermodynamic constants such as: free energy (Delta G(ads)), enthalpy (Delta H(ads)), entropy (Delta S(ads)) of adsorption were determined....

The pressure dependence of the Raman frequencies of the internal modes is analyzed (T = 300 K) for the phases i and theta of solid nitrogen using the experimental data from the literature. Through the mode Gruneisen parameter, the isothermal compressibility kappa(T), thermal expansion alpha(p) and the specific heat C-p - C-v are calculated as a function of pressure using the Raman data in these phases.
Electrochemical polymerization of 9-fluorenecarboxylic acid and its electrochromic device application
Bezgin, Buket; CİHANER, ATİLLA; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (Elsevier BV, 2008-09-01)
Poly(9-fluorenecarboxylic acid) (PFCA) was synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of 9-fluorenecarboxylic acid (FCA) using a mixture of nitromethane and boron trifluoride diethyl etherate as the solvent and tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate as the supporting electrolyte. An insoluble and conducting brownish-orange film was deposited on the electrode surface, both during repetitive cycling and constant potential electrolysis at 1.15 V. Characterization of the polymer film has been carried out using Four...
Polylactide/organically modified montmorillonite composites; effects of organic modifier on thermal characteristics
Ozdemir, Esra; Öztürk, Yurdagül; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2016-12-01)
The effects of interspace distance and the possible chemical interactions between PLA and the organic modifier of montmorillonites, Cloisite 15A, 20A and 30B on thermal degradation of PLA in the absence and presence of water vapor were investigated by direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry, (DP-MS) in addition to XRD, TEM, DSC, TGA analyses. The DP-MS results clearly showed that the way in which the polymer was incorporated into the nanocomposite strongly depends on the mixing technique, the interspacing betwee...
