In this paper a novel two layers power divider based on Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) is proposed. It includes two layers of SIW with a slot in each layer. The electromagnetic wave is coupled from lower layer to upper layer through slot. The electrical performance including return loss and transmission characteristic are presented. Simulation shows the return loss about -16dB and insertion loss about -3.6dB at 10 GHz. This SIW power divider is fabricated and measured. Due to some problems the measurement results will be reported later. The coupling is mainly controlled by slot dimensions. Total size of this structure is 56mm×18mm. This idea will be used to design the power divider with more than two outputs. So by increasing the number of layers and slots in each layer we have more output, but the width of the total structure remain constant only the length of it will be increase. © 2011 IEEE.

A single-crystal silicon symmetrical and decoupled gyroscope on insulating substrate
Alper, SE; Akın, Tayfun (2003-06-12)
This paper presents a single-crystal silicon symmetrical and decoupled (SYMDEC) gyroscope implemented using dissolved wafer process on an insulating substrate. The symmetric structure allows matched resonant frequencies for the drive and sense vibration modes for high rate sensitivity and low temperature-dependent drift, while the decoupled drive and sense modes prevents unstable operation due to mechanical coupling, achieving a low bias drift. The 12-15mum-thick single-crystal silicon structural layer with...
A single-crystal silicon symmetrical and decoupled MEMS gyroscope on an insulating substrate
Alper, Said Emre; Akın, Tayfun (2005-08-01)
This paper presents a single-crystal silicon symmetrical and decoupled (SYMDEC) gyroscope implemented using the dissolved wafer microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) process on an insulating substrate. The symmetric structure allows matched resonant frequencies for the drive and sense vibration modes for high-rate sensitivity and low temperature-dependent drift, while the decoupled drive and sense modes prevents unstable operation due to mechanical coupling, achieving low bias-drift. The 12-15-mu m-thick si...
Multi-layer substrate integrated wave-guide E-plane power divider
Mohammadi, P.; Demir, Şimşek (2012-07-30)
A new multilayer power divider with Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology is proposed. In this work, two-way and four-way power divider realizations by two-layer and three-layer SIW, respectively, are presented. Considering the small size of the structure, extension of this method to n-way power dividers and antenna feed networks are possible, and it has the potential for integration of compact multi-layer SIW circuits. Due to the lack of a multiport counterpart of the two-port thru-reflect-line (...
A dielectrophoretic cell/particle separator fabricated by spiral channels and concentric gold electrodes
Yilmaz, G.; Çiftlik, A.T.; Külah, Haluk (2009-12-14)
This paper presents the design and implementation of a novel dielectrophoresis (DEP) system with spiral channels and concentric electrodes for high resolution cell separation applications. The device is fabricated with a 4 mask parylene process and the design is optimized in MATLAB Simulink reg to confine the operation. Tests with micro particles of different sizes are performed to show size-based separation by dielectrophoresis. Proposed device is also tested with K562 leukemia cell lines to prove that the...
K band substrate integrated waveguide power dividers /
Kiriş, Orçun; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2014)
In this thesis, various K band power divider structures are developed using the substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. In the design and production of the 1 x 2 Y and T - Junction power dividers known as the conventional power divider types, good agreements are observed between measured and simulated S11 results. Also, the differences between simulated and measured S21 results are approximately 0.4 – 0.8 dB at the operating frequency. In addition to these, 1 x 4 dividers obtained by successive add...
