Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles (DDGS) has high fiber content which can be used to produce such enzymes by various fungal species. Aspergillus niger is one of the top producers of hydrolytic enzymes. The addition of nitrogen sources can further enhance enzyme production in DDGS based media. Therefore, in this study, two A. niger strains, NRRL 330 and NRRL 567, were analyzed for their potential to enhance hydrolytic enzyme production with the help of nitrogen source optimization. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used to optimize peptone, yeast extract and ammonium sulfate for maximum enzyme production. Optimization of different nitrogen sources increased cellulase production from 0.174 to 1.3 IU/ml and hemicellulase production from 9.4 IU/ml to 49.74 IU/ml within 6 days. In conclusion, the optimization of all three nitrogen sources improved both cellulase and hemicellulase production in DDGS-based media.

Mineral and nitrogen source amendment for the cellulase and xylanase production by different fungal strains using DDGS as the feedstock

© ASABE 2021. All rights reserved.Distillers' dried grains with solubles (DDGS) is the co-product of dry-mill ethanol production and it has high nutritional value due to the residual fiber, protein, and lipid contents. The fiber content of this material can be used for production of hydrolytic enzymes such as cellulase and hemicellulases, which are needed to saccharify lignocellulosic biomass prior to ethanol fermentation. Although DDGS based media provides sugars and fibers for the enzyme production, the a...
Gaze Aversion In Conversational Settings: An Investigation Based On Mock Job Interview
Acartürk, Cengiz; Nawrocki, Piotr; Sniezynski, Bartlomiej; Jarosz, Mateusz; Usal, Kerem Alp (2021-01-01)
© 2021. Journal of Eye Movement Research All Rights Reserved. We report the results of an empirical study on gaze aversion during dyadic human-to-human conversation in an interview setting. To address various methodological challenges in assessing gaze-to-face contact, we followed an approach where the experiment was conducted twice, each time with a different set of interviewees. In one of them the interviewer’s gaze was tracked with an eye tracker, and in the other the interviewee’s gaze was tracked. The g...
Unpredictable Solutions of Impulsive Quasi-Linear Systems
Akhmet, Marat; Tleubergenova, Madina; Nugayeva, Zakhira (2022-01-01)
© 2022. L&H Scientific Publishing, LLC. All Rights Reserved. The impulsive differential equations with unpredictable perturbations are under investigation. The definition of the discontinuous unpredictable function with the discrete unpredictable set of discontinuity moments is introduced. The existence and uniqueness of asymptotically stable discontinuous unpredictable solutions for quasi linear systems are proved. Examples with simulations are given to illustrate the results.

© 2022. Educational Technology and Society. All Rights Reserved. This study investigated the effects of multimedia learning and visual design in a 6th grade science textbook on students’ studying processes. This was accomplished by using eye tracking technology and by applying multimedia learning design and visual design principles to science textbooks. Eye tracking based testing was employed to evaluate the effects of multimedia learning and visual design principles on students’ studying process as they int...

Published by Cambridge University Press in association with the European Microwave Association. In this paper, we present a linear to circular polarization converter integrated in a concrete structure to eliminate signal transmission problem originated from the concrete buildings in microwave regime. Two polarization converter samples and a control specimen made by traditional concrete are designed and their signal transmission responses are compared experimentally. Axial ratio values w...
